There you have it, DII football fans – your first THREE DII over FCS upsets of the season.
It was an exciting night, with Ohio Dominican, Concord and South Dakota Mines all grabbing wins over their FCS foes.

Ohio Dominican 42, Morehead State 40 (3OT)
Yes, you read that right… That’s three overtimes!
If you’ve been keeping track, we told you to keep an eye on the Ohio Dominican vs. Morehead State game before the season started. And for good reason.
The Panthers upset Morehead State 42-40 in three overtimes on the opening night of college football at Phil Simms Stadium.
D2 Ohio Dominican who went 5-5 last season and has an enrollment of 1200 kids just beat FCS Morehead St with this 4th & 12 bomb.
They went on to score in 3OT and then hold Morehead State for the win.

Panther quarterback Carson Parker had quite the night, passing for 277 yards, going 23-for-48 with four touchdown passes, including a 4th & 12 dart that sent the game into 3OT and the game-winning two-point conversion.
This is the first of three FCS matchups that ODU has on its schedule this year. But three just might be their lucky number.
Concord 41, Davidson 35
Concord secured its first win of the 2026 season in a big way, taking down Davidson, 41-35.
Entering last night, the Mountain Lions were 0-10 all-time against Division I teams, with their last three meetings against FCS schools featuring shutouts. They pulled off this upset on the road in Davidson College Stadium.
Concord struck first, never allowing the Wildcats to take a lead despite three different ties.
Quarterback Devin Kargman relied heavily on his wide receiver Dom Collins for the win. The sophomore from Princeton, West Virginia exploded onto the scene with two touchdowns on the night, including a 68-yard carry after hauling in a 53-yard catch for six.
South Dakota Mines 38, Drake 35
The fun continued with South Dakota Mines taking a 38-35 win over Drake in a dramatic fashion.
SDM held a 31-13 lead over the Bulldogs entering the fourth quarter. But the game was anything but over as Drake stormed back to take a 35-31 advantage with 7:52 left to play.
Running back Dawson Dunbar clutched up, capping a 16-play, 79-yard drive with a two-yard touchdown to put the Hardrockers up 38-35 at the two-minute mark.

The Bulldogs were driving down the field until linebacker Gabe Frerichs sealed the South Dakota Mines victory with an interception at the Drake 35-yard line.
Hardrockers quarterback Gage Baker showed out, going 19-for-31 while passing for 306 yards with three touchdowns, as Dunbar led the attack on the ground with 120 yards and two touchdowns.
