Surrey have signed Indian seamer Auqib Nabi for their next three County Championship fixtures as they battle to stay in Division One.
The 29-year-old is available for their two home matches with Yorkshire and Glamorgan, as well as the away fixture against Sussex at Hove.
Surrey won three successive titles between 2022 and 2024, and were runners-up in 2025. This summer, they have won just one of their 10 matches so far and sit eighth in the table, just three points above the relegation places.
Nabi was recently called up to the India squad for their Test Series against Sri Lanka having represented the India A side earlier this summer.
He was named player of the tournament in India’s premier red-ball competition, the Ranji Trophy, taking 60 wickets for Jammu and Kashmir at an average of just over 12.5 runs per wicket.
Alec Stewart, Director of Men’s Cricket, told the club website:, external “With the exceptionally challenging schedule of six games in six weeks, with minimal recovery between matches along with international fixtures, we’ve had to add options to our bowling stocks for the County Championship run-in.”
