Crowds have gathered for the unveiling of a new sculpture of Queen Elizabeth II.
Hampshire artist Amy Goodman created the bronze piece that stands in Romsey Abbey’s north churchyard.
The reveal was carried out by Lord Lieutenant of Hampshire, Nigel Atkinson and Penelope Knatchbull, Countess Mountbatten of Burma.
The Romsey statue celebrates the late Queen’s strong links to the town, including her connections to Broadlands and the Mountbatten family.
Goodman said: “I’ve been inspired by the many stories, memories and contributions shared by local people, which have helped shape the design and make it deeply connected to the community.
“The sculpture reflects the Queen at a pivotal moment in her life, stepping into a lifetime of service, while also celebrating her special links to Romsey and the Abbey.
“I’m looking forward to unveiling the artwork and welcoming residents and visitors to enjoy it for years to come.”
