Deion Sanders kicked off his 2026 season in thrilling fashion, leading Colorado to a 14-13 win over Georgia Tech on the road.
Colorado quarterback Julian Lewis threw a go-ahead touchdown pass to Charlie Williams with 42 seconds remaining in Thursday night’s game. Georgia Tech’s Aidan Birr had a chance to kick a game-winning field goal from 45 yards out, but Boo Carter sealed the win for Colorado by coming up with a game-saving block.

As Coach Prime was leaving the field at Bobby Dodd Stadium, a Georgia Tech fan yelled an expletive at him. The initial video of this interaction was shared by Yahoo Sports.

On Friday, an alternate angle showed Sanders responding to this disrespectful Georgia Tech fan.
Instead of fighting fire with fire, Sanders looked at the Georgia Tech heckler and said, “God bless you.”
This incredible response from Sanders quieted the crowd while also showing his true character.

Though it’s not really a surprise, college football fans are disgusted with the way Sanders was treated Thursday night.
“Stay classy Georgia Tech,” one fan wrote on X.
“Unnecessary and disgusting that somebody would disrespect Deion like that,” a second fan commented.
“So we just gone skip over these disrespectful fans wtf wrong with these people man,” another fan wrote.
Hopefully, Sanders doesn’t have to deal with another interaction like this anytime soon.
