Wrexham came from behind to deny Burnley a first Championship win of the season in an entertaining contest at the Racecourse Ground.
Zeki Amdouni’s first Burnley goal in two years gave the hosts a deserved first-half lead.
Jacques Ekomie’s second-half header – his second goal in three games since joining last month – put Wrexham on level terms.
Both sides pushed for a winner, but a draw leaves Wrexham still searching for their first home win of the season while Burnley have not won a league game since February.
Burnley’s squad did not feature new signing Jamie Vardy, suspended due to yellow cards he had accumulated during his spell with Cremonese in Italy last season.
Vardy looked on as the Clarets made a purposeful start and were presented with an opportunity inside the opening three minutes when Amdouni played a free-kick short to Aaron Ramsey, who fired wide.
Callum Doyle headed straight at Burnley keeper Max Weiss before Josh Windass powered a shot over the crossbar as Wrexham began to take control.
Issa Kabore was a threat down the right hand flank and Wrexham should have opened the scoring but Kieffer Moore’s point-blank header was tipped over by Max Weiss.
Despite Wrexham’s early promise, Burnley kept their composure and grew into the game and having created a number of half chances they eventually went ahead on 26 minutes.
Largie Ramazani’s neat through ball found Amdouni, who put the ball beyond Anthony Patterson from close range.
Burnley now had the momentum, but from a Wrexham counter attack towards the end of the half, Weiss denied Matty James before Kabore fired the rebound into the side netting.
