Counting of votes for the Bassi Municipality in the 2026 Rajasthan Urban Local Body elections began at 8 am on September 14, 2026. Bassi Municipality went to the polls in Phase 1 of the elections on Wednesday, September 9, 2026.
About Bassi Municipality
Bassi Municipality is one of the 309 municipal bodies that went to the polls in the 2026 Rajasthan Urban Local Body elections across two phases. This municipal body is part of the Jaipur district of Rajasthan and has a total of 35 wards.
In the 2026 elections, there were a total of 35 polling booths in the Municipality of which 35 has up to 1400 electors and 0 polling booths with more than 1400 eligible voters.
Candidates 2026
A total of 211 nominations were filed for the 35 wards of Bassi Municipality, of which 14 were withdrawn, 32 were rejected and 1 discarded, leaving 164 candidates in the contest across all the wards. Of the 164 candidates in the fray 0 were elected unopposed.
Voter Turnout
Bassi Municipality voted on Wednesday, September 9, 2026 in Phase 1 of the Rajasthan Urban Local Body elections and registered a voter turnout of 88.92%. The voter turnout in Phase 1 of the elections was 76.41% and Phase 2 registered a voter turnout of 70%, while it was 73.21% overall.
2026 Rajasthan Municipal Elections
A total of 309 Municipal bodies went to polls in the two-phase elections, which included 10 Municipal Corporations (Nagar Nigam), 51 Municipal Councils (Nagar Parishad) and 248 Municipalities (Nagar Palika).
The gazette notification for the election was issued on August 27, 2026 (Thursday), the nominations were scrutinised on September 1, 2026 (Tuesday) and September 3, 2026 (Thursday) was the last date of withdrawal of candidatures.
Of the 309 municipal bodies, 162 went to the polls in Phase 1 of the polls on September 9, 2026 and the remaining 147 bodies in Phase 2 on September 11, 2026. The counting of votes and election results are scheduled for September 14, 2026.
The elections to choose the mayors and chairpersons of the urban local bodies are scheduled for September 21, 2026, while elections to choose the deputy mayors, deputy chairpersons and municipal vice-presidents are scheduled for September 22, 2026.
