Aston Villa v Brentford predicted line-ups

Aston Villa: Matty Cash was substituted with a dead leg playing for Poland last week, but he is expected to be fit to reclaim his right-back spot ahead of Aaron Wan-Bissaka. Centre-back Pau Torres has also recovered from injury, which could mean Tyrone Mings making way. Young striker Brian Madjo is in line to return to the squad having not featured since suffering an ankle injury in the UEFA Super Cup in August. Summer signing Leon Goretzka is not ready to face Brentford but is nearing a return, according to Unai Emery.

Brentford: Mikkel Damsgaard is a doubt after picking up an ankle injury on international duty with Denmark. Mamadou Sangare could be the man to benefit from his potential absence after he was dropped to the bench against Chelsea before the break, which may mean Yehor Yarmoliuk being pushed further forward. Brentford boss Keith Andrews said Sepp van den Berg, Nathan Collins and Mathias Jensen are “getting close to a return”, but Antoni Milambo and Joshua Dasilva are definitely still out.

Chelsea v Bournemouth predicted line-ups

Chelsea: Cole Palmer and Joao Pedro both missed international duty for their respective nations, but Chelsea boss Xabi Alonso has declared them “ready to go” against Bournemouth. Moises Caicedo is in line to start his first Premier League match of the season after recovering from injury, and he could partner Reece James, who has also been passed fit. Alonso also confirmed that right wing-back Marco Palestra is available to make his Chelsea debut, but he may not yet be ready to start.

Bournemouth: Bournemouth will be without Alex Scott for “four to five weeks” after the midfielder picked up an injury on England duty. None of those who went into the international break with problems are expected to return here, which means still no Amine Adli, Veljko Milosavljevic, Justin Kluivert, Julian Araujo or Eli Junior Kroupi. The only unknown is David Brooks, who picked up a knock with Wales but is in “full team training”. In theory, that should make team selection fairly simple, with Lewis Cook the likely candidate to replace Scott, and everyone else unchanged from last time out.

Ipswich v Fulham predicted line-ups

Ipswich: Abdul Fatawu is suspended following his red card against Everton before the break. In his place, Gary O’Neill could move Jack Clarke to the right wing and bring in Jaden Philogene on the left. Christian Walton looks set to stay in goal after summer signing Kjell Scherpen was dropped for Ipswich’s previous game. Jack Taylor could feature for the first time this season after recovering from a knee injury.

Fulham: Fulham could name the same team that drew against both Liverpool and Manchester United before the international break as they look to pick up their first Premier League win of the season. The Cottagers have no fresh injury worries, with Kenny Tete back available after recovering from concussion. Tom Cairney has also returned to training following his knee surgery in the summer, although the match at Ipswich could come too soon.

Sunderland v Brighton predicted line-ups

Sunderland: The international window was not kind to Sunderland, who are now without two guaranteed starters in Dan Ballard and Brian Brobbey. Ballard will be out “for a few weeks”, while Brobbey is expected to return sooner, along with Habib Diarra. Reinildo is back from suspension and will hope to return here at left-back, while Wilson Isidor should fill in up front. To fill Ballard’s vacant spot, Le Bris will likely bring in Omar Aldarete or shift Nordi Mukiele across from full-back, with Thomas Meunier dropping deeper. Malick Fofana continues to wait for his chance.

Brighton: Unlike many other Premier League clubs, Brighton escaped the international break without any fresh injuries to their players. Yasin Ayari missed the last two Sweden games due to illness but he is now fine. Lewis Dunk has also been passed fit to face Sunderland after missing Brighton’s last match against Arsenal with a neck injury and is set to come back in for Pascal Struijk. Jack Hinshelwood returns to the squad for the first time since the opening match of the season. Femi Azeez remains a doubt, while this game has come too soon for Yankuba Minteh, Kaoru Mitoma and Mats Wieffer, who boss Fabian Hurzeler says are “getting closer” to a comeback.

Man Utd v Spurs predicted line-ups

Man Utd: Kobbie Mainoo and Marcus Rashford both pulled out of the England squad before the first round of international matches, but they have trained this week and should be fit to play. The big question is whether central midfielder Carlos Baleba will make his Man Utd debut, having arrived from Brighton in the summer with an ankle injury. Benjamin Sesko has been ruled out, so Matheus Cunha is set to continue up front, while Patrick Dorgu will be sidelined for “a number of weeks” with the hamstring injury he suffered for Denmark during the break.

Spurs: Roberto De Zerbi has confirmed centre-backs Micky van de Ven and Jan Paul van Hecke are fit to play despite both picking up knocks with the Netherlands. Van Hecke’s wife, however, gave birth to twins on Thursday, with De Zerbi saying he has to consider that “emotional aspect”. Archie Gray is likely to come in at right-back for Pedro Porro, who has not yet recovered from a hamstring injury. Conor Gallagher could get the nod as the No 10, with De Zerbi saying he is “playing well in that role”. Mateus Fernandes and Mohammed Kudus are other options, with James Maddison suffering a setback in training.

Crystal Palace v Nott’m Forest predicted line-ups

Crystal Palace: Takehiro Tomiyasu has been ruled out through injury, and Axel Disasi is suspended, so Honest Ahanor is in line to come into Crystal Palace’s defence. Right wing-back Anan Khalaili is “ready to play 90 minutes”, according to his manager Pierre Sage, despite picking up a minor hamstring injury last week. Ismaila Sarr is “able to start”, so will come into Sage’s thinking, but Jean-Philippe Mateta is not ready to play yet despite returning to training. Dean Henderson remains sidelined, so Walter Benitez will continue in goal against Nottingham Forest.

Nott’m Forest: Centre-half Nikola Milenkovic will miss the visit to Crystal Palace with a bruised bone picked up in training, meaning Ousmane Diomande is set to continue his run in the side. Neco Williams was absent from training on Friday through illness, but Oliver Glasner is still hopeful he can play. However, striker Igor Jesus has been ruled out for a “few weeks” with a calf injury, joining long-term absentee Nicolo Savona on the treatment table.

Hull v Everton predicted line-ups

Hull: Nobel Mendy has recovered from a concussion and is expected to take the place of Lucas Herrington in central defence. Otherwise, Hull boss Sergej Jakirovic confirmed that all of his international players have returned to the club in good shape. Elliot Stroud did miss Sweden’s final two Nations League games through illness but he has since recovered. The one Hull player to pick up a fresh injury is Matt Targett, who twisted his ankle in training on Friday and is out of the Everton game. But Tim Iroegbunam has returned to training ahead of schedule, with Hidemasa Morita and Brooke Norton-Cuffy also likely to return.

Everton: David Moyes is hoping to have Vitalii Mykolenko fit to face Hull. The left-back withdrew from the Ukraine squad with a minor issue during the break, but Moyes said he “has a chance” of playing on Sunday. If he misses out, Jake O’Brien could come into the defence. Christian Norgaard is closing in on a return, although this weekend could come too soon. As ever, Moyes has a decision to make on the right wing, with Tyrique George, Brennan Johnson and Tyler Dibling all vying for selection.

Liverpool v Man City predicted line-ups

Liverpool: Andoni Iraola has confirmed Alexander Isak and Cody Gakpo are both out of the Man City match after picking up injuries during the international break. With striker Hugo Ekitike also still sidelined, it could mean a first Premier League start for Wales forward Lewis Koumas, who Iraola said “has our trust” and is “ready to go”. Another option would be to play left winger Bradley Barcola up front. Jeremy Jacquet has been declared fit despite missing France’s last game of the international break with a hamstring injury.

Man City: Enzo Maresca has confirmed top scorer Erling Haaland is “ready for Anfield” despite him coming off early in Norway’s last match of the international break. Antoine Semenyo withdrew from Ghana’s squad for their Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers for treatment on a swollen leg but is expected to be fine. Jeremy Doku could come into contention after making his return from injury against Sunderland before the international break. Nico O’Reilly is a doubt after leaving the England camp due to an unspecified injury, while Phil Foden serves the final game of his three-match suspension.

Coventry v Newcastle predicted line-ups

Coventry: Frank Lampard confirmed everyone has returned fit from international duty, which presumably includes Joel Latibeaudiere, who picked up a knock with Jamaica. Milan van Ewijk had a thigh injury before the break, but Lampard said “we hope he’ll be right if he comes through the next few days”. Coventry’s other pre-existing absentees remain out, while Taiwo Awoniyi is suspended. Having won their first Premier League game last time out, Lampard could stick with a similar side here. Caleb Yirenkyi could well muscle his way into central midfield, while Loum Tchaouna will challenge for a No 10 spot.

Newcastle: Matthias Jaissle gave no guarantees, but he is expected to welcome back Joelinton, Nico Gonzalez and Dan Burn for this match, while he suggested Lewis Miley should recover from the minor knock he suffered with England U21s. However, he did not reveal much about the fitness of Amar Dedic, Tino Livramento, William Osula, Anthony Elanga and Jacob Ramsey, stating only that he hopes to have “three or four back from the nine” who missed Newcastle’s last game. Gonzalez should make the starting XI after serving concussion protocol. Miley can fill in at right-back again if neither Dedic nor Livramento make it.
