Heading into the weekend, Republican Sen. Dan Sullivan and Democrat Mary Peltola are separated by just hundreds of votes in the race for U.S. Senate in Alaska, but there are still more ballots to tally.
With about 76.8% of the vote in, Peltola, a former U.S. representative, holds a razor-thin lead over Sullivan: 48.2% to 47.9%. The margin is just over 600 votes, per the Associated Press’ latest tally as of Nov. 5 around 10:30 a.m. ET.
Eyes across the nation are on the race as it will determine just how wide of a majority Democrats will have in the Senate after decisively winning control of Congress.
The election has also drawn attention over a controversy of two “Dan Sullivans” on the ballot. Republicans raised concerns that a second Dan Sullivan was planted to pull away votes from the incumbent, leading the Justice Department to launch an investigation into the issue.
Here’s a look at the live results.

US Sen. Dan Sullivan (L) and Democrat Mary Peltola (R) are in a tight race for Alaska’s US Senate seat.

When will we get Alaska US Senate election results?
It could be a while before we get the final results in Alaska’s U.S. Senate race.
Ballots can take longer to tally in Alaska because many come from remote precincts, and there are also many military voters whose tickets can arrive up to 15 days after the election.
Under the state’s ranked-choice voting system, if no candidate gets more than 50% of the vote, there will be more rounds of counting – which wouldn’t begin until at least Nov. 18 because of state law – which could mean further delays.
