Iran and the United States have reportedly received a proposal calling for a 45-day ceasefire and the reopening of the crucial Strait of Hormuz. The proposal was sent by mediators from Egypt, Pakistan and Turkey, according to the Associated Press. Over the weekend, President Donald Trump imposed a new Tuesday deadline to reopen the Strait of Hormuz in a profane-filled that threatened to destroy Iran’s civilian infrastructure. NBC’s Gabe Gutierrez reports for TODAY.
