Use of artificial intelligence in researcher training is not just a plagiarism issue, author emphasises
Universities around the world are lagging in their approach to using artificial intelligence in researcher training, and the limited steps taken by some are on the wrong track, according to a report on the topic.
The report was published last month by the researcher training organisation Instats and was written by the organisation’s director, Michael Zyphur, who is also a professor of quantitative methods at the University of Queensland in Australia. He looked at the AI policies of 38 “top-tier” doctoral universities in 15 countries, as well as those of 14 funders and 18 publishers.
