Lock Upp season 2 contestant Akanksha Chamola announced her divorce from Gaurav Khanna on the premiere episode of the controversial reality show. Ever since she made the news of her divorce public, her personal life has been in the spotlight. She even faced allegations that her separation was planned to gain attention on the show. However, the actress has now addressed these allegations and set the record straight that she could never do such a thing.During an interview with Hindustan Times, “I would never do something like this for PR. The show I was a part of was about revealing your own self and speaking about things and secrets that you may have kept with you for a long time. That is exactly what I did. It was about being honest about my own journey, not creating a narrative.”Akanksha, who has been a part of successful shows like Swaragini and Kaise Mujhe Tum Mil Gayi further said, “There are also legal aspects involved, and I have spoken about that time and again. I think I’ve chosen not to get into a cycle of proving myself. There are some things in life that you don’t need to constantly justify to everyone.””In the interview, she also spoke about facing constant questions about her divorce from Gaurav. She said that as a celebrity, she has become used to the questions and judgments surrounding her personal life. “I’ve been dealing with public scrutiny for a very long time now. I dealt with it when I was married and I’m dealing with it even after announcing my separation. The reality is that there are certain things that only the people going through them truly know. I have said what I had to say I choose peace over explanation,” she said.Recently, Gaurav Khanna’s co-contestant Orry (aka Orhan Awatramani) dropped a lengthy comment on a social media post slamming Akanksha Khanna. He took a dig at her for milking Gaurav’s popularity. “Gaurav Khanna in the negative spotlight again. Coincidence or deliberate?” The post was shared with a collage of his photo alongside Akanksha Chamola, and KKK15 co-contestant Shagun Sharma, who had earlier accused Gaurav of ‘bullying’ her. Orry commented, “She is just blackening his good name and milking his fame for her own views. No one knows who she is. I didn’t even know he was married, and we shared a vanity van for a month in Cape Town during KKK filming. This is completely shameless behaviour, to test and take advantage of a good man. This girl is a real snake in the grass and as for Shagun, I am pretty sure I bullied her more during KKK and we are still good friends. It’s just fun to bully her because she gives good reactions, and we needed entertainment.”For the uninitiated, Gaurav and Akanksha got married in a lavish wedding ceremony in Bigg Boss 19 winner’s hometown, Kanpur, in 2016.
