The University College of Commerce & Business Management, Osmania University, in collaboration with the Indian Accounting Association (IAA), Hyderabad Chapter, hosted a one-day seminar on the impact of Artificial Intelligence on accounting education.
The seminar focused on AI’s impact, with special reference to curriculum design, execution and assessment, and brought academic leaders, industry professionals and students to the platform to discuss the future of technology-driven financial education.
Chairman, IAA (Hyderabad) D. Obul Reddy, in his address, observed that modern accounting demands more than foundational knowledge, and it requires graduates equipped with robust technological, analytical, problem-solving and professional capabilities.
Speaking virtually, General Secretary, IAA (Rajkot), Sanjay Bhayani reiterated the necessity of imparting digital and analytical fluency alongside a commitment to responsible AI usage. He noted that blending core accounting fundamentals with technological proficiency creates adaptable, highly competent and employment-ready professionals.
Vice-Chancellor Kumar Molugaram too stressed the need to modernise curriculum frameworks, teaching methods and assessment standards to prepare graduates for a technology-centered professional environment.
Principal, UCC&BM, Indrakanti Sekhar, Registrar G. Naresh Reddy and others were present.
