Guv encourages NERIST to inspire students to pursue excellence in AI, research & innovation — The Arunachal Times


ITANAGAR, 16 Sep:  Governor K.T Parnaik encouraged deans and heads of department at North Eastern Regional Institute of Science and Technology (NERIST) to inspire students to pursue excellence in emerging fields, particularly Artificial Intelligence (AI), advanced technologies, research and innovation.

Interacting with NERIST deans and HoDs during a meeting on its campus in Nirjuli on Wednesday, the governor called upon the faculty to foster a culture of curiosity, critical thinking and scientific inquiry that results in meaningful research and impactful innovations.

He opined that technology will shape the future of humanity and that the rapidly changing global environment presents both opportunities and challenges.

Describing the NERIST as a premier technical institution with a distinguished legacy and immense potential, the governor urged the academic leadership of the institute to remain ahead of the curve and prepare students to respond effectively to emerging technological, economic and societal demands.

“The future belongs to those who innovate, adapt and create solutions for real-world problems,” he said.

The Governor, as the president of the NERIST Society, emphasized that the institute must strive to produce graduates who are technologically competent, innovative and socially responsible. He said that young minds should become creators of opportunities, entrepreneurs, researchers and leaders who can contribute to the progress of Arunachal Pradesh and the nation.

Referring to recent developments on the campus, the governor underscored the importance of integrity, transparency and collective responsibility. He said that every member of the NERIST fraternity must work with honesty, dedication and a shared commitment to the institution’s growth.

“Our ultimate aim must be to take NERIST to greater heights of excellence and national relevance,” he said.

Reaffirming his unwavering support, the governor assured the institute of his full commitment and assistance in strengthening it as a centre of technological excellence, innovation and nation-building.
