A large fire broke out at a building in Boston’s Roxbury neighborhood Monday morning around 8 a.m., prompting first responders to ask the public to avoid the area.
According to Boston Police, the fire at a building Warren and Dudley streets quickly escalated. When firefighters arrived, they could see visible smoke coming from the building.

Boston police are advising commuters to avoid the area of Warren and Dudley streets due to traffic disruptions and to seek alternate routes.
The Boston Fire Department says firefighters have the entire block covered with fire engines pumping and supplying water to the trucks with ladders.
As of 10:30 a.m., firefighters were still keeping water on the building and pulling water from as far as 2 blocks away, according to the Boston Fire Department.
The surrounding streets will remained closed until further notice.
