The Powerball jackpot has grown to an estimated $409 million, with a cash value of $170.2 million, ahead of the drawing Wednesday, Sept. 30, after no ticket matched all six numbers on Sept. 28
The current jackpot run began after an Illinois player won an estimated $1.040 billion jackpot on Aug. 12, one of the largest Powerball prizes ever awarded.
While no one hit the jackpot Monday, a player in Puerto Rico won $2 million by matching five numbers and the Power Play, while players in Illinois, North Carolina and New York each won $1 million prizes.

How to play Powerball
Powerball tickets cost $2 per play and are sold in 45 states, Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Depending on local laws, tickets may also be purchased online.
Players choose five white-ball numbers from 1 to 69 and one red Powerball number from 1 to 26. For an additional $1, players can add Power Play, which multiplies non-jackpot prizes by 2X, 3X, 4X, 5X or 10X.
Players who don’t want to pick their own numbers can choose a Quick Pick and let the terminal generate selections randomly.
To win the jackpot, a ticket must match all five white balls and the Powerball. If no one wins, the jackpot rolls over and continues to grow.
Do you have to be a U.S. citizen or resident to play Powerball?
You do not have to be a U.S. citizen or resident to buy a Powerball ticket.
Anyone who meets the legal age requirement where the ticket is purchased, generally 18 or older, can play while visiting a participating jurisdiction. Winners who live outside the United States are eligible to claim prizes, although taxes may apply.
