Nokia CEO Justin Hotard on AI data center supply constraints


The comments arrive amid a broader industry debate about whether capital flowing into data center construction can be sustained. Research presented at the Brookings Papers on Economic Activity projects that spending across AI-related data centers, chips, and supporting infrastructure will reach $10.3 trillion between 2025 and 2032, equivalent to an average of 3.63% of U.S. gross domestic product annually. To fund these projects, companies are turning to debt, joint ventures, and other financial arrangements, all of which hinge on AI demand holding up over an extended horizon, according to CNBC.
