Poland’s November funding programme includes support for startups, research organisations and business expansion.
Poland has opened a broad November funding window aimed at businesses, researchers and regional institutions, with 159 competitions offering a combined budget of almost PLN 6.4 billion. The overview, published by the Ministry of Funds and Regional Policy on 2 November, includes support for innovative products, international expansion, preparation of European projects, critical technologies, employee skills and vocational education.
The announcement is notable less for a single flagship investment than for the range of routes now available to companies and research organisations. According to the ministry, 50 new calls worth about PLN 2.1 billion are due to open during November. The opportunities are distributed across national, regional and Interreg programmes, giving applicants several possible ways to finance product development, partnerships and market growth.
Support for startups moving towards the market
One of the most business-focused opportunities is a new call for startups from eastern Poland. It is designed for micro and small companies that have successfully completed incubation in the Start Platform programme for new ideas. The next stage is intended to help them develop innovative products and make their first sales.
The call is scheduled to open on 3 November and remain open until 14 January 2027. Its budget is PLN 40 million, provided in the form of grants. Eligible spending may include staff costs, external services, equipment, intellectual property, raw materials and materials needed for product testing and initial production.
The programme covers the eastern macro-region, including Lubelskie, Podlaskie, Podkarpackie, Świętokrzyskie and Warmińsko-Mazurskie, as well as the eligible part of Mazowieckie outside the Warsaw metropolitan area. The geographic focus gives the measure a regional-development dimension: the aim is not only to help individual startups but also to strengthen the business base in areas that have traditionally had fewer private sources of growth capital.
The European Funds portal describes the Start Platforms model as a staged pathway. Founders first work with mentors and experts to develop and test an initial product, then the strongest companies can seek financial support for market entry and further development. In practical terms, the November call is aimed at firms that have already passed the early validation stage and need resources to turn a tested concept into a functioning business.
More help for European partnerships
Another planned opportunity concerns so-called Eurogrants. With a budget of PLN 15 million, the measure is intended to help Polish small and medium-sized enterprises and research organisations prepare applications for centrally managed European Union programmes.
The funding may cover activities such as finding international partners, preparing a proposal, making corrections and presenting the project during the evaluation process. Applications are scheduled to be accepted from 19 November 2026 until 31 March 2027.
This type of support addresses a practical obstacle in research and innovation: promising organisations may have the technical expertise for a project but lack the time, networks or administrative capacity needed to compete for major European funding. By financing preparation work, the programme is designed to widen participation in international projects rather than limit access to organisations with large specialist teams.
A broad pipeline rather than a single-sector programme
The ministry’s November overview includes 22 competitions under national programmes, 122 regional competitions and 15 Interreg opportunities. The mix means that applicants will need to match their project carefully with the relevant programme, region, company size and maturity of the proposed investment.
For businesses, the priorities include innovative products, foreign expansion and technology development. For research organisations, the available routes can help prepare collaborative European projects. Other calls focus on workforce skills and modernising vocational education, linking business support with the supply of people able to use new technologies.
The scale of the monthly package also shows how Poland is using several funding channels at once. National programmes can target strategic business and innovation needs, regional schemes can respond to local economic conditions, and Interreg instruments can support cooperation across borders. The result is a more distributed funding landscape in which the quality of project preparation becomes particularly important.
What applicants should watch
Companies considering the startup call should first verify whether they have completed the required incubation stage and whether the planned project will be carried out in an eligible part of eastern Poland. They should also distinguish between costs connected with product development, first production and ordinary business operations.
Organisations interested in Eurogrants will need to work backwards from the European programme they intend to target. Identifying partners, defining the project idea and preparing a credible budget will be central before the application is submitted. The available support is therefore most useful when treated as part of a longer project-development process rather than as a stand-alone subsidy.
The ministry’s announcement provides an overview rather than replacing the detailed rules for each competition. Applicants will need to consult the official documentation and electronic application systems once individual calls open.
For Poland’s innovation ecosystem, however, the immediate message is clear: November brings a substantial new round of opportunities for companies that have moved beyond the idea stage, researchers seeking European partners and regional institutions working to build skills and competitiveness.
