Liverpool will have to face Premier League leader Manchester City without one of its most important players.
Dominik Szoboszlai was not in the squad for the match at Anfield on Sunday, Oct. 11, a surprise given the Hungary international had not been known to be injured beforehand.
But Szoboszlai missed out due to a hamstring injury. It is not clear when he suffered the issue.
“Szoboszlai has a tight hamstring, this is why he’s not available today,” Liverpool coach Andoni Iraola told Sky Sports in his pre-match interview.

Szoboszlai’s absence is a blow for Liverpool. The 25-year-old is one of the team’s most vital players, starting all five Premier League games this season and scoring one goal.
Szoboszlai joins Alexander Isak and Cody Gakpo on the sideline, with the latter pair suffering injuries with their national teams over the recent international break.
Liverpool entered Sunday’s match with an unbeaten record in the league, winning two games and drawing three. City, meanwhile, has won all five matches to sit atop the table.
The game will be the first time City takes the field since being found guilty on all charges related to serious breaches of the league’s financial rules.
