Ericsson showcases 5G AI and 6G innovations at IMC 2026

Ericsson is showcasing its 5G, artificial intelligence (AI) and emerging 6G technologies at India Mobile Congress (IMC) 2026, highlighting the infrastructure and technologies supporting India’s digital transformation.

A key feature of its showcase is the work of six startups that won the Ericsson Innovation Challenge 2026. The startups are demonstrating 5G- and AI-based solutions across agriculture, healthcare, digital inclusion, advanced manufacturing and environmental sustainability.

Torchit is showcasing an AI reader for people with vision disabilities, supported by 5G for updates and remote assistance. Skye Air Mobility is using 5G for its autonomous drone logistics ecosystem, while scanO combines AI-based oral health screening with 5G-enabled real-time specialist consultations. Okulo Aerospace is exploring 5G-enabled High Altitude Pseudo Satellites (HAPS) to extend connectivity to underserved areas.

Proxgy is integrating Physical AI into PPE-compatible assets, using 5G connectivity for real-time video and AI assistance. KissanAI is applying voice and vision AI to agriculture, with 5G supporting live photo and video-based diagnosis.

The Ericsson Innovation Challenge was organised in partnership with IAN Mentoring and Incubation Services and TiE Delhi-NCR. Its final jury included representatives from the Department of Telecommunications (DoT), Telecom Engineering Centre (TEC), Bharti Airtel, Reliance Jio, IAN and the Indian investor community.

Ericsson is also demonstrating AI-powered networks, programmable networks, differentiated connectivity and mission-critical networks. Its Evolve Networks with AI zone showcases AI-enabled radio systems, AI-powered RAN architecture and Intelligent Operations with Agentic AI.

The Rethink Monetisation zone focuses on 5G Standalone and differentiated connectivity, including Network APIs such as quality on demand and SIM swap, along with AI-enabled smart glasses. The Get Ready for 6G zone explores technologies and use cases built around pervasive intelligence and connectivity for the 2030s, including collaborative robots and sensing for edge-orchestrated Physical AI in warehouses.

The Next Generation Mission Critical Networks zone features 5G KAVACH for India’s indigenous Automatic Train Protection system and drone-assisted connectivity for public safety.

Ericsson is also highlighting its 150-year innovation journey and 123-year association with India through an immersive cinemograph gallery. Its Make in India zone showcases the country’s role in Ericsson’s innovation, research and advanced manufacturing activities, including the development and production of next-generation radio equipment and antennas.
