Star Indian spinner Vaishnavi Sharma on Friday picked four wickets in four deliveries while playing for Madhya Pradesh against Andhra in the Senior Women’s T20 Trophy, as she carried on her form from the Zimbabwe ODIs into domestic cricket.
Vaishnavi was brought into the attack in the fifth over of Andhra’s innings and made an immediate impact, claiming two wickets in her first three overs while conceding just 16 runs.
Vaishnavi returned to bowl the penultimate over but got off to an inauspicious start, giving away a two and a four off her first two balls.

Vaishnavi, however, produced a brilliant turnaround, completing a hat-trick before striking again off the final delivery of the over to claim four wickets in four balls.
Chasing 130, Aayushi Shukla and Anushka Sharma added 99 runs for the opening stand before the former was dismissed by Devika Kandregula. Anushka and Nuzhat Parween added 34 runs for the second wicket to take Madhya Pradesh past the target.
Vaishnavi became only the second Indian woman as well, after Humaira Kazi, to claim four wickets in four successive balls in a T20, as per available data. The latter had achieved the feat while playing for Mumbai against Saurashtra in 2022.
The brilliant performance further underlined Vaishnavi’s impressive run of form across formats. Since making her international debut last December, she has claimed five wickets in T20Is at an economy rate of 6.26.
Vaishnavi was in fine form during India’s ODI series against Zimbabwe in October as well, picking up nine wickets in two games, including a brilliant 5/39 in the third ODI.
Prior to that, Vaishnavi had made an impact for India A against Australia, claiming eight wickets in three ODIs before returning figures of 6/52 and 3/58 in the one-off unofficial Test.
