Hot temperatures are here to stay. What to expect Labor Day weekend


For many, Labor Day weekend marks the end of the summer season. School is back in session, pumpkin-flavored drinks are on the menu and the promise of fall is right around the corner.

In Georgia, however, the temperatures aren’t going down quite yet.

The heat index across North Georgia topped 100 degrees this week, and those high temperatures are expected to continue through the holiday weekend.

Temperatures are staying high in Georgia

A high pressure system over Georgia will keep temperatures high after a week of highs in the mid-90s, according to the National Weather Service.
