Morehead State came back from a 34-12 deficit early in the fourth quarter on Aug. 27 to force overtime before visiting Ohio Dominican, a Division II program, put the game away in the third OT session for a 42-40 win. David Parsons found Anthony Ice for a nine-yard touchdown pass with 1:07 remaining in regulation to tie the game at 34-34 and hit Ice for a 10-yard score to take a 40-34 lead in the second overtime before Ohio Dominican matched it.
Parsons finished 30-of-57 for 463 yards and four touchdowns and added a score on the ground but also threw four interceptions. Craig Cunningham ran for 89 yards on 19 carries while Ice went for eight catches for 156 yards and Cannon Dinger grabbed seven balls for 134 yards and a score.
Kentucky Christian forced three turnovers and opened a 35-3 halftime lead before claiming a 44-24 win over visiting Kentucky Wesleyan on Aug. 27. Xavier Phillips went 22-for-33 for 241 yards and a touchdown, Vaughn Johnson ran for two short touchdowns and Jovari Gamble made eight catches for 114 yards. Santee Brock added a 56-yard pick-six.

The Eagles beat the Knights 45-28 last September to improve to 7-0 all-time in the series.
