The Powerball jackpot is climbing again.
After no ticket matched all six numbers in Saturday night’s drawing, the jackpot for Monday, Sept. 28, grew to an estimated $389 million, with a cash option of $161.9 million. The latest prize comes just weeks after an Illinois player won a massive $1.04 billion jackpot, ending one of the game’s longest recent stretches without a winner.

When is the next Powerball drawing?
The next Powerball drawing will take place on Wednesday, September 30, at around 10:59 p.m. ET. The drawing can be watched live on Powerball’s website, and players can rewatch clips on its YouTube channel.
Powerball drawings occur every week on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday.

How to play Powerball
Powerball tickets cost $2 per play and are sold in 45 states, Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Depending on local laws, players may also be able to purchase tickets online.
To play, select five white-ball numbers from 1 to 69 and one red Powerball number from 1 to 26. Players can also add Power Play for an extra $1 to boost non-jackpot prizes by 2X, 3X, 4X, 5X or 10X.

To win the jackpot, a ticket must match all five white balls and the red Powerball. If no one wins, the jackpot rolls over and continues to grow.
Do you have to be a U.S. citizen or resident to play Powerball?
You do not have to be a U.S. citizen or resident to buy a Powerball ticket.
Anyone who meets the legal age requirement where the ticket is purchased, generally 18 or older, can play while visiting a participating jurisdiction. Winners who live outside the United States are eligible to claim prizes, although taxes may apply.
