Philadelphia Eagles RB Saquon Barkley (hamstring, back) ran the ball seven times for 62 yards and a touchdown versus the Dallas Cowboys in Week 7. Barkley added two catches for nine yards but dealt with hamstring and back issues that limited his availability during the game.
Why It Matters: Barkley looked good in his return, but it didn’t last. After the game, he told reporters that he tweaked his hamstring early on and then injured his back trying to compensate. It doesn’t bode well for his availability on a short week this Sunday against the Commanders, and given how quickly he bowed out here after missing two games with the original hamstring injury, it’s fair to wonder just how long he might be held out this time to ensure he’s ready to turn it loose upon returning. We’ll need to wait for an official update, but be prepared to make due without Barkley for a while (and look to scoop up Dameon Pierce or perhaps even Elijah Mitchell if you’re in need).
