Multi-admin verification adds a further layer of protection by requiring designated administrator approval for certain sensitive operations, helping reduce the risk of unauthorised or malicious changes.
Roger Cummings, former CEO of PEAK, has transitioned to the role of Vice President at NetApp since the acquisition.
“We are going to change the conversation around AI infrastructure,” Roger writes on LinkedIn.
“For too long, the industry has thrown more hardware, more complexity and more proprietary technology at the problem.
“There is a better way. NetApp Novus is bringing a new level of performance and scale to AI and HPC.
“The future of AI infrastructure is about making the infrastructure you have work harder, smarter and more efficiently.”
PEAK technology supports secure, scalable AI data management
A key element of the acquisition is the separation of metadata from data, allowing metadata services to scale independently as AI workloads and file operations increase.
This is particularly relevant to AI factories, where multiple GPU clusters and applications need simultaneous access to extensive datasets.
PEAK developed its technology to address demanding data-intensive computing challenges identified by leading research institutions, including Los Alamos National Laboratory and Carnegie Mellon University.
“The AI factory is only as productive as its data pipeline,” says Syam Nair, Chief Product Officer at NetApp.
