New Hampshire election results: Latest on primary races for House, Senate, governor

Candidates in a New Hampshire Senate race are set.

Rep. Chris Pappas, D-New Hampshire, and former Sen. John E. Sununu, R-New Hampshire, will be on November’s ballot for a seat in the Senate. The two candidates came out on top in the state’s Tuesday, Sept. 8, primary, as both parties vie for control of Capitol Hill. The winner will replace outgoing Sen. Jeanne Shaheen, a democrat who has held the seat since 2009.

New Hampshire Senate primary results

Republican: Sununu (68.5% of votes) defeated Scott Brown (26.7% of votes) with an estimated 84% of votes counted.
Democrat: Pappas (65% of votes) defeated Karishma Manzur (32.8% of votes) with an estimated 88% of votes counted.

District 1

Candidates run to replace Rep. Chris Pappas, who is running for Senate. Stefany Shaheen, daughter of Sen. Jeanne Shaheen, ran in the Democratic primary.

Republican: Anthony DiLorenzo (51.6% of votes) defeated Hollie Noveletsky (26.3% of votes) with an estimated 88% of votes counted.
Democrat: Shaheen (37.2% of votes) defeated Maura Sullivan (35% of votes) with an estimated 91% of votes counted.

District 2

Republican: Lily Tang Williams (65.3% of votes) defeated Victor Orlando (13.3% of votes) with an estimated 77% of votes counted.
Democrat: Incumbent Rep. Maggie Goodlander (81.5% of votes) defeated Paige Beauchemin (18.3% of votes) with an estimated 84 % of votes counted.

New Hampshire governor primary results

Republican: Incumbent Gov. Kelly Ayotte (91.6% of votes) defeated Shaun Fife (4.1% of votes) with an estimated 84% of votes counted.
Democrat: Cinde Warmington won the race uncontested.
