Sorry, you are going to have to wait. College football officially kicked off Week 1 on Sept. 5, meaning it’s only logical that the NFL follows a day later, right?
Wrong.
The NFL is still gearing up for opening night, which is just days away. The Seattle Seahawks will host the New England Patriots in a rematch of Super Bowl 60, but fans need to have a little more patience until then.
For now, there is plenty of time to continue watching highlights of the 2025 season – or dreaming about what could await your favorite team in 2026.

The preseason wrapped up on Saturday, Aug. 29, but Week 1 of the regular season doesn’t kick off until Wednesday, Sept. 9 when the defending Super Bowl champion Seahawks host the Patriots in Seattle.
