The weather took a decidedly fallish turn this weekend, going from a high of 80 on Saturday to 63 yesterday. Such are these pumpkin-spiced times.

If you’re looking for a rebound in the temps, this isn’t your week. A cool bubble of high pressure will settle in across New England, creating onshore winds, cool temps, and plenty of clouds.
Then, later in the week, it looks to conspire with a deepening low-pressure system and stew up a large multi-day nor’easter offshore.

First thing’s first. We struggle to bring back the sun today. For some, it may take much of the day, while others see splashes of sun from time to time. We stay cool too, as highs remain in the low 60s.
Stagnate is a better term, since we’ll see much of the week settle near that range. Clouds are likely to have a hand in tomorrow’s forecast too, as onshore winds feed the lower overcast.

Later in the week, the aforementioned storm will start to churn off the mid-Atlantic coast. As it deepens and gathers strength, it will also back northwest towards New England.
Remarkably, our model guidance is all pointing to a similar outcome: strong wind, heavy rain, and possible coastal flooding. Of course, the moon will be full by the end of the week, heightening the worries of moderate/major flooding at the coast.

Small fluctuations in the storm’s path and intensity will be the main points we’ll be tracking, but for now, it appears a storm of some magnitude will soak us down and bring gusty winds to at least the coastline.
