The rapid expansion of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine-learning workloads is reshaping the physical and logical architecture of modern data centers. As large language models, neural networks and distributed training clusters grow in complexity and computational scale, they place increasing pressure on the underlying network infrastructure connecting accelerators, switches and storage systems. In particular, this demand is pushing existing optical interconnect technologies beyond their original design limits, exposing structural weaknesses in how the industry currently moves data.
