Calais Campbell stands alone atop the NFL’s record books.

The Ravens defensive lineman played his 283rd regular-season game Sunday against the Atlanta Falcons, surpassing Jim Marshall for the most defensive-line appearances in NFL history. Baltimore announced the accomplishment Sunday. Campbell entered the season with 278 career appearances, five shy of breaking Marshall’s record.

The 40-year-old reached the milestone in his 19th NFL season and his second stint with Baltimore. Campbell previously played for the Ravens from 2020 through 2022 before spending one season each with Atlanta, Miami and Arizona. He returned to Baltimore this offseason, adding another experienced presence to the defensive front.

Campbell’s longevity has been matched by sustained production. He entered Sunday with 117 career sacks, including a career-high 14.5 with Jacksonville in 2017. He recorded 6.5 sacks and 43 tackles for Arizona last season before returning to the Ravens.
