Detroit Red Wings star Dylan Larkin received a big reaction from fans as he appeared at Little Caesars Arena amid his trade request.
And it included a heavy layer of boos.
Larkin wasn’t playing on Friday, Oct. 2 because of an upper body injury but he was introduced along with the other players who weren’t dressed. He gave a wave to fans after the reaction.

Unlike Winnipeg Jets goalie Connor Hellebuyck, who is suspended for not reporting, Larkin agreed to report to training camp. But he missed the early practices because he was hurt while training in the offseason.
The Red Wings placed him on the injured list retroactive to Aug. 15 and he will miss this weekend’s games.
Larkin made the trade request after the 2025-26 season, in which Detroit missed the playoffs for a 10th consecutive season. Efforts to trade him were complicated because Steve Yzerman stepped aside as general manager. Shawn Horcoff was named interim GM.
Larkin has five years left on his contract at an $8.7 million cap hit. The longtime captain lost his “C” and the Red Wings will start the season without a captain.
