J. Craig Venter:
In 2010, Steve Kroft profiled microbiologist J. Craig Venter, known for his work in mapping the human genetic code. At the time, Venter had announced his team had created “the first synthetic species,” a bacteria designed with man-made DNA. Venter died Wednesday at the age of 79. Source link
