Fans of Indian cricketer Virat Kohli gathered at Wellington International Airport to wish him a happy 38th birthday following his rapid 74-run innings in the first ODI at Auckland. Despite the match being reduced due to rain, Kohli’s 51-ball 74 demonstrated his commanding form and confidence.
As Kohli arrived in Wellington ahead of the second ODI on Saturday, supporters greeted him, singing the birthday song as he descended the aircraft stairs. Meanwhile, in Bengaluru—home to Kohli’s IPL team Royal Challengers Bengaluru and current back-to-back champions—fans expressed lessons they have learned from the batsman, including “200 per cent energy”, “Never give up”, “If you can give it, you have got to take it”, and “There is always a one per cent chance.”
