As we approach the midway point of the high school football season, the excitement isn’t slowing down.

There were plenty of plays that caught our attention this week, but there were four that stood out from the rest.

Knoxville Catholic (TN) WR Braylen Gibbs snags game-winning Hail Mary

As the final seconds ticked off the clock, Knoxville Catholic quarterback Mack Bartholomew scrambled, found an opening and launched a Hail Mary to the back of the end zone. Wide receiver Braylen Gibbs fought off three defenders and came down with the catch to secure a victory over Hoover (AL).

Willowbrook (IL) RB Jannell Adams jukes out five defenders before flag gets pulled

Willowbrook flag football’s Jannell Adams simply cannot be stopped. She showed off her speed and shifty moves on a 40-yard run where she dodged five defenders before a sixth finally pulled her flag in a 51-0 win over Morton.

Chaparral (CO) QB Zoey Fink connects with sister Paige Fink on long TD

There’s nothing quite like a sister connection, right? Quarterback Zoey Fink saw her sister, Paige, open downfield and threw a long ball for the first touchdown in No. 25 Chaparral’s 53-26 upset win over No. 10 Mountain Vista.

Don Bosco Isaiah Alvarez takes kickoff to the house

It didn’t take long for the Ironmen to respond to a first-quarter touchdown by St. Joseph Regional. In fact, it only took one minute as wide receiver Isaiah Alvarez returned the kickoff all the way to the house for a 98-yard touchdown. How’s that for some payback?
