This of course comes fresh off the Portuguese calling time on his international career.

Following a drama-filled last couple of months between Ronaldo and his national side, the 41-year-old this morning took to social media, to announce his decision to bring the curtain down on his legendary Portugal stint.
The five-time Ballon d’Or winner has closed out his time on the international stage with a record-breaking 234 appearances and 146 goals to his name.
And as alluded to above, amongst a whole host of messages from across the world of football, Ronaldo has seen his achievements on the international front recognised by legendary figures from both Barcelona and Real Madrid.
From the former, Neymar Jr. has taken to Instagram, to simply write:

‘Legend’
And Neymar has been joined in his praise by one of Ronaldo’s former teammates in Spain, namely Sergio Ramos, who wrote:
‘Oh, really…?? Ahahahah. What a legend, time to enjoy other things in life.’
