EaseMyTrip, one of India’s leading online travel-tech platforms, plans to build capacity to manufacture 5,000 electric buses annually over the next five years as part of its Vision 2030 roadmap.
The company on Friday marked the debut of electric buses in Bhopal under its electric mobility arm, Easy Green Mobility (EMTev)
The company’s plans encompass an integrated mobility ecosystem that covers vehicle manufacturing, fleet operations, service support, and the progressive localisation of components, said the official release.
“Through EMTev, we aim to build meaningful capabilities in electric bus manufacturing, operations, and localisation, with a clear focus on scale, efficiency, and long-term value creation for India’s mobility ecosystem,” said Rikant Pittie, CEO & Co-Founder, EaseMyTrip.
“At EMT EV, our focus is to build both intra- and intercity electric buses that combine long-range battery technology, fast charging, advanced safety systems, and passenger comfort, while delivering a significantly lower operating cost,” said Manoj Soni, CEO of EMTev.
EMTev’s initial electric bus portfolio includes a 12-meter electric seater coach with a seating capacity of 45+D. The coach is equipped with an LFP battery offering 423.9 kWh of total energy, a PMSM motor, air suspension, EBS with ESC braking, and EHPS steering.
The electric bus programme builds on the operating experience of YOLO Bus, EMTev’s operating arm, which already operates conventional intercity buses across multiple southern Indian markets.
According to the company, the bus features an LFP battery pack with liquid cooling technology and supports fast charging through a dual-gun configuration.
