The semiconductor company plans to expand its engineering team and increase product-development ownership from Bengaluru as it develops energy-efficient AI inference chips.

Mythic AI has launched a Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Bengaluru to support development of its analogue AI chips and expand engineering ownership from India across multiple stages of semiconductor design and product development.
The company develops analogue compute-in-memory technology, an architecture designed to perform AI processing inside memory itself rather than constantly moving data between memory and processors.
Mythic AI says this approach helps reduce energy consumption and improve efficiency for AI inference workloads.
The Bengaluru centre will serve as a product development and innovation hub and support work across VLSI design, physical design, design-for-test (DFT), systems engineering and applications engineering.
The India team is already contributing to front-end design and verification of core analogue compute technology, analogue-digital hybrid physical design and DFT techniques aimed at meeting automotive compliance requirements.
Mythic AI plans to expand its engineering presence in India, with the Bengaluru team expected to [quadruple] in size by the first quarter of 2027.
The company said the India operation will participate across multiple pre-silicon and post-silicon engineering disciplines and contribute to product development initiatives across its semiconductor portfolio.
Mythic AI chairman and chief executive officer Taner Ozcelik said Bengaluru will play an important role in the company’s next phase of growth.
“India has an exceptional depth of semiconductor engineering talent and a rapidly evolving technology ecosystem, making Bengaluru an important location for Mythic AI’s next phase of growth,” said Ozcelik.
“Our objective is to build a premier AI chip development team that can take meaningful ownership across multiple areas of product development and contribute to some of the most complex challenges in AI computing.”
The company said future plans for the India centre include product engineering, test and characterisation engineering, systems engineering and intelligent sensing chip development.
Focus on energy-efficient AI inference
Mythic AI’s technology is aimed at AI inference environments where power efficiency is becoming important.
Its flagship Vanguard platform combines analogue and digital computing on a single chiplet architecture and is targeted at applications across automotive advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS), defence, robotics, physical AI, enterprise AI and data centres.
The company says the platform will help deliver efficiency gains of up to 100 times compared with conventional approaches. Mythic AI also claims a single Vanguard rack can deliver the same output as 650 conventional racks.
The platform has also been validated for tactical-edge applications through the company’s strategic partnership with Lockheed Martin.
The India expansion comes as semiconductor companies increase investment in engineering and product development capabilities in the country. Bengaluru remains one of the largest semiconductor design hubs in India, while demand continues to grow for talent across chip design, verification, testing and systems engineering.
Mythic India vice president Manoj Kumar said Bengaluru offers access to specialised semiconductor talent across multiple engineering disciplines required for advanced AI chip development.
“Mythic’s core AI semiconductor development would demand exceptional execution in each of these disciplines and I am excited to create and nurture a team that will help realise our immediate and long-term roadmap of energy-efficient AI solutions,” Kumar said.
With the new CoE, Mythic AI plans to deepen its presence in India’s semiconductor ecosystem while increasing the role of Bengaluru in the development of its next generation of AI computing technologies.
