Trump promises big investment in KY facility ‘if the Republicans win’

President Donald Trump promised a major investment for Kentucky – but only if Republicans win the midterms.

“If the Republicans win, the Department of War will be investing $100 million in the pharmaceutical company Antheia to revitalize a gigantic drug manufacturing facility in Winchester, Kentucky,” Trump said while speaking at a midterm election rally in Highland Heights, Kentucky, on Oct. 17.

If Democrats win, Trump continued, they “wouldn’t be able to do it, they wouldn’t even know what you’re talking about, they have no idea.”

Representatives for U.S. Rep. Andy Barr, the Republican nominee for U.S. Senate who currently represents the congressional district where Winchester is located, and the Department of Defense did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

Trump also brought up several other major investments in industry within Kentucky, including a $1 billion investment from GE Appliances and IUE-CWA that will make Louisville’s Appliance Park the largest home appliance manufacturing site in the U.S.

Trump was in Northern Kentucky as part of a rally tour to drum up support for Republican candidates ahead of the 2026 midterm elections.

Barr and Ed Gallrein, the Republican nominee for Kentucky’s 4th Congressional District, joined Trump on stage during his speech, during which Trump reiterated his promise to also give all adult citizens a $5,000 dividend if voters elect a Republican Senate and House on Nov. 3.

Earlier, at the Republican National Committee’s midterm convention, Trump said the dividend is possible because of the “tremendous strength and success” of the American economy, according to USA TODAY. However, he has not said how it would be paid for or how much it would cost.
