USA TODAY Sports Top IX flag football players of Week 6

It was a good week in the world of flag football, as all ten states were in action.

As Georgia and Arizona continue to get rolling, even more talent has flooded the field, making Top IX honors that much more difficult to earn. While it’s impossible to highlight every single player who had impressive performances, there are a few who stood out.

Kayleigh Besch, No. 23 Mountain Vista

Kayleigh Besch proved herself to be a true dual threat player in the Golden Eagles’ 41-6 win over Douglas County. The senior picked up 118 receiving yards and two touchdowns on top of four flag pulls and an interception on the other side of the ball.

Zoey Fink, No. 10 Chaparral

Chaparral has been climbing the ranks in Colorado the past few weeks, and it’s no secret that quarterback Zoey Fink is making that happen. Brianna Massion, No. 5 Huntington Beach

Brianna Massion was a force to be reckoned with in Huntington Beach’s 26-20 thriller win over a talented Mater Dei team. Not only did she total 108 yards and two touchdowns through the air, but she also picked off the Monarchs, adding the Oilers sole interception.

Claire McMahon, No. 11 Campo Verde

Since losing its first game of the season to Highland, Campo Verde has earned three shutouts, outscoring opponents a whopping 196-0. Let’s just say Claire McMahon has played a big part in that. In the Coyotes’ 48-0 win over Desert Mountain, the junior grabbed 188 yards through the air for three touchdowns. She was just as big of a threat on the other side of the ball, grabbing an interception and three flag pulls.

Addisen Odom, No. 3 Greenbrier

It isn’t Addisen Odom’s first rodeo, and that was evident in Greenbrier’s 52-6 win over Drew last week. While Odom threw for just 122 yards, they were efficient yards, as she threw for a season-high six touchdowns.

Aleigha Rhetta, No. 8 Moody

Aleigha Rhetta might only be a sophomore, but she plays like a four-year starter. Rhetta had a breakout game in Moody’s 51-12 win over Wenonah, serving as quarterback Serenity Rutledge’s top target. Rhetta totaled 224 yards and four touchdowns through the air.

Serenity Rutledge, No. 8 Moody

If you haven’t gotten used to hearing the name Serenity Rutledge, now is your chance. Rutledge might be one of the most accurate quarterbacks in all of flag football, and she proved that once again in Moody’s 51-12 win over Wenonah. She completed 14-of-16 passes for 443 yards and six touchdowns, averaging 31.6 yards per throw.

Ariel Weathers, No. 13 Pope

We have another freshman phenom on the list this week in Pope quarterback Ariel Weathers. In the Greyhounds’ season-opening win over Enterprise, Weathers completed 23-of-29 passes for 217 yards and four touchdowns. How’s that for a career opener?
