AEW All Out was live and loud from the sold-out NOW Arena in Chicago, Illinois, on HBO Max PPV for another historic night from a town and venue synonymous with All Elite Wrestling! With seven championships up for grabs over nine matches, only one title changed hands.
The main event saw AEW World Champion Will Ospreay retain his title over AEW Continental Champion Jon Moxley with appearances by the Death Riders, United Empire and AEW Women’s World Tag Team Champions The Brawling Birds. Until tonight, Ospreay had never beaten Moxley, and he needed everything he learned from Moxley and more to successfully defend his AEW World Championship.
The AEW World Tag Team Titles belong to the Young Bucks for a record-setting fourth time after pulling them down to win the wild and chaotic ladder match over Cope and Cage and FTR. We were treated to yet another spectacular AEW World Trios Championship match with Swerve Strickland and The New Level outlasting former champions ”Hangman” Adam Page and Brodido in a match that saw a lot of personal feelings come back to the surface between Strickland and Page in the very building where they nearly ended each other’s careers two years ago.
Thekla defeated Willow Nightingale to earn a shot at AEW Women’s World Champion Mercedes Moné next month at AEW WrestleDream, and Moné came out after the match to stare down her next challenger. The Brawling Birds retained the AEW Women’s World Tag Team Titles in a violent Chicago Street Fight with Divine Dominion.
AEW National Champion Andrade El Ídolo turned away PAC in the opening contest to notch his fifth successful defense. “The Rainmaker” Kazuchika Okada provided “Psycho Killer” Tommaso Ciampa with a match he’s wanted for a long time, but it was Okada who kept the AEW International Title.

AEW Saturday Tailgate Brawl: “Jungle” Jack Perry def. Katsuyori Shibata of The Opps
Our opening contest was another test for Perry, as he needed to get through Shibata to get to Samoa Joe. Shibata tried to keep Perry on the mat in the early going, although Perry didn’t seem to mind before backing away to regroup. Perry kicked free of a test of strength and rebounded off the ropes with an arm drag to take Shibata down. Shibata chopped Perry, so Perry answered, and Shibata asked for more. Perry obliged, but Shibata returned fire and dropped Perry with a nasty chop. Perry battled back until Shibata hung up on the ropes and kicked him in the chest. Perry tried to get away, so Shibata chopped him off the top turnbuckle to the floor!
Shibata stayed on Perry with chops around the outside and brought him back into the ring to keep the assault on with even more chops. Perry fired up and asked for more chops, so Shibata fired off a flurry, and Perry fought it off with uppercuts and chops in the corner. Perry ratcheted up the aggression with facewashes using his boot and followed up with a running knee to knock Shibata to the apron. Shibata fought back with chops, so Perry returned fire until Shibata dropped him with a single big shot. Shibata suplexed Perry on the apron and rolled through to the floor for another, but Perry turned it around for a suplex of his own on the floor.
Perry returned Shibata to the ring and tried to feed off the crowd as he went to the top rope. Shibata cut him off with a chop and tried to set up a suplex, but Perry blocked it and went for a sunset flip powerbomb. Shibata floated over for a hurricanrana and attempted a PK, only for Perry to turn it into the Snare Trap! Shibata was able to escape, but Perry came back with a Tiger Driver for a near-fall! Shibata stopped Perry’s running knee and went to town on him in the corner with more chops. Shibata snapped Perry to the mat and tried to go for a rear naked choke, so Perry floated over Shibata to pin his shoulders to the mat for the three-count!
Perry remained in the ring and called for Samoa Joe. Instead, he got HOOK, Anthony Bowens and ROH World TV Champion Action Andretti of The Opps. They remained at the top of the ramp, and SAMOA JOE RETURNED! Joe marched right down to the ring and went face-to-face with Perry, who offered a handshake, but Joe just turned around to walk away. Perry swung Joe back around and slapped him to demand Joe shake his hand. Joe went to reach his hand out and instead lunged forward into Perry with a brutal headbutt! Perry crumpled to the mat, and Joe stormed away with The Opps, who were escorted by security back up the ramp.
AEW Saturday Tailgate Brawl: Artist of STARDOM Champions Sisters of Sin (Skye Blue and Julia Hart) def. Queen Aminata & Mina Shirakawa
Mina and Hart opened the match, and Hart quickly went to a hair pull, so Mina responded with a roll-up and then shimmied away from Hart on the mat. Chicago’s own Blue and Aminata tagged in to resume hostilities from their match on Wednesday night. They exchanged strikes, and Aminata got the better of Blue with a shoulder tackle. Aminata gave Blue Chocolate Kisses and a stiff kick to the chest before tagging in Mina for a tornillo to get a near-fall. Hart distracted Mina from the outside, and that allowed Blue to turn things around with a DDT.
Hart and Blue kept Aminata away from Mina for any attempt at a tag for an extended period while dominating her in their corner. Finally, Mina made a tag and opened up on both Hart and Blue. Mina took Hart down with a top-rope dropkick, but Hart managed to kick out at two. Hart escaped Mina and tagged Blue, who got ping-ponged by Mina and Aminata with strikes and kicks. Aminata tagged back in and went up top for a diving stomp to Blue while Mina had Blue in a figure four leglock. Hart was waiting for Aminata with a thrust kick that broke up the figure four.
Hart and Blue hit thrust kicks, and both locked on their own versions of octopus holds. Aminata and Shirakawa both escaped with slams to break the holds. Aminata blocked a running knee strike with a headbutt and set up Hart for Off With Her Head. Hart stopped Aminata with a lungblower, so Mina dropped Hart with a rolling elbow. Blue cracked Mina with a thrust kick, only to be caught by a swinging neckbreaker from Aminata!
Aminata tagged Mina, who picked up Blue for a Glamorous Driver, but Blue rolled through into a near-fall on Mina. Mina dropped Blue with a spinning backfist and went to tag Aminata, but Hart pulled her off the apron and sent her into the barricade. Blue rolled Mina up and nearly got the win. Blue hit Mina with Code Blue and got the pinfall victory for Sisters of Sin!
AEW Saturday Tailgate Brawl: 8-Man Tag Team No Disqualification Tailgate Brawl: Bang Bang Gang (“Switchblade” Jay White, Ace Austin, Austin Gunn and Colten Gunn) def. Death Riders (Daniel Garcia and Wheeler Yuta) & The Dogs (Clark Connors and David Finlay)
Before the match, Mick Foley was backstage with “Coach” Juice Robinson and the Bang Bang Gang to get the lowdown on how the team was doing. Robinson said they are focusing on the fundamentals. Connors can’t stop the run, and Yuta has a really weak pass rush. White started to describe Finlay, but was cut off and went back to training. Foley asked about the match having no rules, and Robinson said that works in Bang Bang Gang’s favor. Tonight is about showing everybody that Bang Bang Gang are the baddest golden gunslingers in town!
Foley said, hypothetically speaking, what if he wasn’t down with that?
They all said, “GUNNS UP!”
The Dogs entered from the crowd with Connors carrying a keg! Before the match, we got pre-recorded player introductions from The Dogs and Death Riders. Garcia and Yuta came out with full football pads and helmets. Garcia made sure to put his helmet on before Marina Shafir slapped him. Arkady Aura introduced the starting lineup for Bang Bang Gang, including starting quarterback “Switchblade” Jay White from the American football hotbed, Auckland, New Zealand! Apparently, Juice Robinson is talking to someone in a coaches’ box above the arena while on a headset? That view does provide a better view of the all-8 for the offensive coordinator.
Bang Bang Gang isolated Finlay in the corner for repeated attacks after getting signals from Coach Juice on the outside. Austin Gunn snapped a football to White, who threw it at Finlay. White DDTed Finlay for a near-fall! Everyone spilled back to the outside, where Garcia snapped the ball to Yuta, who handed off to Connors with Finlay as a lead blocker to clear the way of the Bang Bang Gang!
Both sides took further advantage of the tailgate brawl by using a grill and a cornhole set. The Dogs and Death Riders completely took over in the ring, as Coach Juice encouraged a “DE-FENSE!” chant from the crowd. White was demolished by The Dogs and Death Riders in the corner while Shafir was shouting orders from a megaphone. Ace came down the ramp and ran through all four of his opponents with evasiveness and offense before spiking the ball in the ring! Ace went back over the top with a Flosberry Flop to take out Garcia and Yuta.
Back in the ring, Austin tripped Connors and took him down with a floatover neckbreaker. The Gunns worked Finlay into a DDT and the crowd was on fire! White grabbed a football and went up top before hitting a Heisman pose and a senton bomb off the top to the floor! Austin brought the keg into the ring, which earned a huge “KEG” chant from the Chicago crowd. After taking turns bouncing around Finlay, Austin hit him with a Fame-asser on the keg! 1-2-Shafir broke it up! Coach Juice got in the ring and threw the red flag on Shafir! Shafir took him down with a judo throw! They are out of the coaches’ boxes! Finlay cracked Austin with a helmet! He kicked out in time!
Connors went up for Full Clip on Austin, so Colten shoved him off the top rope into the grill on the floor! Austin ran Finlay into the corner, and Ace took out Finlay from across the ring! Garcia dropped Ace, but Colten managed to send Garcia into the ropes so the Gunns could hit 3:10 to Yuma! The Gunns celebrated too long, and Yuta pushed them into each other before rolling up Colten for a near-fall. White snapped Yuta to the mat with a Blade Runner and pinned him for the win!
AEW National Championship Match: Andrade El Ídolo (c) def. Death Riders’ “The Bastard” PAC
What a fantastic way this was to begin All Out with two of the very best pro wrestlers in the world! Shafir was out with PAC and remained at ringside, although that didn’t deter the crowd from chanting, “He’s a bastard! How you know?”
Andrade charged at PAC, who sidestepped him for a rebound German Suplex. Andrade rolled through it and dropped PAC with Día de Los Muertos! Andrade was slow to get an arm over PAC, who managed to kick out to keep the match alive. Andrade and PAC each reversed takeover attempts before taking each other out with running big boots!
Both were slow to get up and the match reset with Andrade offering a handshake. PAC considered it and pulled Andrade into a boot in the gut. He sent Andrade to the corner and followed with a running elbow. Andrade came back with a crossbody from the top rope and covered PAC for a near-fall. Andrade went into Three Amigos and hit the first two with relative ease before pausing to point to the sky. On the third attempt, PAC floated out of it, and Andrade dropped him with an impactful dropkick. PAC took his time on the outside, so Andrade tried to slingshot himself to the floor with a crossbody, but PAC was waiting with a kick to the chest. PAC returned to the ring and distracted the referee, so Shafir mounted Andrade for strikes!
PAC brought Andrade back in the ring and choked him with his knee. He grabbed the referee’s attention again, so Shafir continued to go to work on Andrade. PAC came to the floor and sent Andrade into the barricade. PAC broke the count and sent Andrade into another barricade before gouging his eyes and mouth. Andrade managed to battle back by reversing PAC into the barricade. Shafir charged at Andrade, who sent her into the front row!
Andrade threw PAC in the ring and brought him to the top turnbuckle. Andrade elbowed PAC off the top rope, so Andrade tried a moonsault and landed on his feet, but connected on the second attempt for a two-count! Andrade called for running knees to the corner, but paused to consider removing his pants. He thought better of it and took off after PAC, but PAC was ready with an overhead throw that sent Andrade head over heels into the turnbuckles.
PAC hit a springboard cutter from the apron back into the ring and covered Andrade, who popped his shoulder up in time to keep his reign alive. The crowd tried to get Andrade back into it, and he managed to win a strike exchange with PAC before a flying forearm kept PAC down. Andrade leaped to his feet and went back to his pants, so PAC jumped on him and tried to set up a suplex. Andrade turned it into Three Amigos! He clotheslined PAC over the top to the floor and finally removed his pants, much to the delight of the crowd!
Andrade ran to the second rope and jumped off with a tornillo to PAC on the floor. Andrade found an admirer in the front row for a selfie, but Shafir popped up behind her and choked her out! PAC nailed Andrade and went to the top rope for a huge moonsault all the way to the floor! PAC threw Andrade back in and went up top to hit a nasty 450 splash! Andrade kicked out at two! PAC hit a running pump kick in the corner and returned to the top turnbuckle, but Andrade kicked his legs out and crotched PAC on the buckle. Andrade went up and put PAC on his back, but PAC adjusted and took Andrade over with an avalanche hurricanrana! Andrade’s momentum took him right into the corner and back to his feet! He crushed PAC with another Día de Los Muertos! PAC rolled to the floor so Andrade couldn’t go for the pin.
Andrade went to the outside and charged at PAC, but he threw Andrade over his head into the barricade with a brutal crash. PAC and Andrade beat the count to get back in the ring, so PAC pulled Andrade to the corner and went to the top. He tried a Black Arrow, but Andrade moved! Andrade tried to hook PAC for The DM, so Shafir got on the apron to distract Andrade. He turned his back to PAC, who stuck Andrade with a poisonrana! PAC hit a momentum lariat and locked in The Brutalizer, but he barely had a chance to pull back on it when Andrade rolled over him and pinned PAC to retain the AEW National Title!
Winner Gets a Future AEW World Tag Team Championship Shot: Don Callis Family’s “The Protostar” Kyle Fletcher & “The Jet” Kevin Knight def. TNT Champion Darby Allin & Steven Borden via Doctor’s Stoppage
Allin tried to start with Fletcher, who called for Borden, and he tagged in to begin his first PPV match in his young career. Fletcher couldn’t overpower Borden, and Borden refused to back down as he threw punches at Fletcher with reckless abandon. Knight tried to get involved, so Allin came in, and they cleared the ring. Fletcher and Knight regrouped on the floor before Fletcher got back in the ring and ran into an arm drag from Borden. Fletcher moved Borden to the corner and tagged Knight, but Borden escaped to avoid the double-team.
Knight came at Borden and also succumbed to a deep arm drag. Knight came back with a pair of shoulder tackles with no impact, and Borden dropped him with a high dropkick. Allin tagged in and sent Knight to the outside with a springboard armdrag. Knight came back in and hit a right hand before running to the floor. Allin chased after as Knight tagged Fletcher. When Allin came back in, Fletcher took him down. Allin avoided a back body drop and got distracted by Knight, so Fletcher took out Allin’s legs for a nasty landing on the mat.
On the outside, Knight sent Allin into the barricade. He threw Allin towards the steel steps, so Allin jumped on them to flip onto Fletcher. Fletcher caught Allin and powerbombed him on the steel! That was gnarly! In the ring, Fletcher and Knight double-teamed Allin, with Knight hitting a standing UFO Splash for a two-count. Knight choked Allin with his boots in the corner and threw him into Fletcher, but Allin knocked Fletcher down briefly before going back to Knight. Fletcher made a blind tag as Allin rolled up Knight, so Fletcher picked Allin off the mat and lawn darted him into the top turnbuckle! Fletcher admired his work, but stopped to spit at Borden!
Fletcher took too long to stay on Allin, who hit a Scorpion Death Drop out of nowhere to put both men down! Allin tried to dive to the corner for a tag, so Fletcher caught him, and Knight got in the ring. The referee went to stop Knight and didn’t see Allin tag Borden, so he was stopped and sent back to the corner while Fletcher dumped Allin over the top rope to the floor with an ugly landing. Allin tried to dive back in for a tag, but was cut off by Fletcher and Knight. He broke free of them and tagged Borden! As he unloaded on Knight and Fletcher, the crowd chanted, “STEVE” with each connection!
Borden hit a beautiful dropkick on Fletcher and a jumping bulldog on Knight. Borden charged at Fletcher for a Stinger Splash in the corner, but Fletcher moved, and Borden flew over the buckles into the ring post and to the floor! Fletcher and Knight chucked Borden into the barricade, but as Fletcher walked away, Allin knocked him into the commentary desk with a torpedo dive. Knight ran up the desk and clobbered Allin with a clothesline. Knight hung Allin in the tree of woe and ascended the opposite corner for a coast-to-coast dropkick. Borden got on the apron and got Allin out of harm’s way. Instead, Borden went to the top rope on the opposite side, and both men launched at each other with a horrific collision in midair. Borden landed very hard on the back of his head and was immediately checked out by the referee and doctor. The doctor called for a stoppage and the match was awarded to Fletcher and Knight.
TBS Championship Open Challenge: TBS Champion and CMLL World Women’s Champion Persephone (c) def. Dani Luna
Persephone came to the ring with Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D., as they awaited the challenger. The debuting Dani Luna, a standout from the UK scene and former RevPro Women’s Champion, answered the call, and this will be her first meeting with Persephone. The two tried to overpower each other, but Luna kept blocking Persephone’s offense. They reset after another failed shoulder tackle, and Persephone picked Luna’s ankle into a pinning predicament, but Luna kicked out. Persephone used a traditional belly-to-belly for another near-fall. The two traded another set of pin attempts, and Persephone was incensed by Luna, who responded with a massive forearm to drop and stun the champion.
Baker tried to calm Persephone down, but she ran right into a bodyslam and ate lariats in the corner before a suplex. Luna came off the ropes with a blindside lariat and got a two-count. Persephone was slow to catch her breath, but managed to reverse Luna out of the corner, although a monkey flip attempt was blocked and Luna hit a big boot. With the referee checking on Persephone, Baker knocked Luna off the top rope all the way to the floor. Persephone recovered and took out Luna with a tope suicida. Persephone threw Luna back in and hit a sliding kick to the head for another near-fall. Persephone choked Luna near the ropes and took the referee’s attention away, so Baker could choke Luna over the bottom rope.
Persephone hit strikes against the ropes, but Luna stopped her offense and cracked the champion with a forearm. Persephone came back with a bridging Northern Lights suplex for a two-count, and the frustration was all over her face. Persephone hit a dropkick and tried to pick up Luna for a crucifix powerbomb, so Luna rolled it into a pin attempt that got a two. Persephone blasted Luna with a forearm and put her in the corner. Luna kicked away and hit a dropkick to staggered Persephone. Luna was too beat up to take advantage, so both women fought back to their feet and Luna hit a leaping boot!
Luna tried to lift Persephone up, but she fought out of it. Luna hit a rebound Blue Thunder Bomb for a near-fall, and Persephone knew she was in trouble, so she rolled to the apron. Baker went over for a pep talk, so Luna grabbed Persephone off the apron. Persephone broke free and pulled Luna to the apron for a German Suplex! Both women crashed to the floor, although Persephone was able to get Luna back in the ring. She covered, and Luna still kicked out at two, which caused Persephone to yell at the referee in frustration.
Persephone looked out at the crowd and got booed, so she locked Luna in an impressive double wrist lock. Luna broke free with an elbow strike, so Persephone answered, and they continued to battle back to their feet. Persephone caught Luna’s knee and rolled her through, but both women went back down when they collided in the middle of the ring. Persephone was up first and literally walked over Luna before trying to springboard, but Luna stopped the champion and pushed her over the top to the apron. Luna reached over the ropes and brought Persephone back in with a deadlift German Suplex! 1-2-Persephone kicked out! The Human Suplex Machine, Taz said he’s never seen that before!
Luna dropped Persephone with a lariat and hit a fireman’s carry sitout slam. She covered Persephone, but Baker pulled Luna’s hair to break up the pin! Baker argued with the referee, so she didn’t see Luna fly through the ropes with a dive to take her out! Persephone followed out with a dive to Luna! Persephone sent Luna back in the ring and went to check on Baker, but when she went back to the apron, Luna caught her with a running kick. Luna tried another deadlift German Suplex, but Baker held Persephone’s leg to anchor her. Persephone broke free and dropped Luna with a crucifix powerbomb off the ropes to get the pinfall victory and successful TBS Title defense! Persephone carried Baker out over her shoulder and celebrated up the ramp!
AEW International Championship Match: “The Rainmaker” Kazuchika Okada (c) def. “Psycho Killer” Tommaso Ciampa
Ciampa wanted “Psycho Killer” vs. “The Rainmaker,” and so he wore a familiar mask to the ring before embracing his wife and daughter in the front row. Okada made his way out with Don Callis, who then joined commentary. The crowd cheered at the bell and chanted, “AEW!” They were ready for this one!
Okada gave Ciampa a clean break at the ropes, but when Ciampa had the same opportunity, he mocked Okada by using his familiar smack to the chest. Okada didn’t like that and grabbed Ciampa in a headlock, which he held onto by pulling Ciampa’s beard. Ciampa blocked a kick and grabbed a headlock, which he held onto by pulling Okada’s hair to give Okada the proper receipt.
Back on their feet, Okada and Ciampa exchanged big strikes in the middle of the ring, with Okada dropping Ciampa to his knees with a rising uppercut. Okada tried a pair of Rainmakers, which Ciampa avoided and nearly took out Okada with a bicycle knee. Okada bailed to the corner and went to the floor to regroup. He slowly returned to the ring and pounded away on Ciampa until Ciampa flew off the ropes with a flying forearm. Okada went to the floor and tried to get back in the ring, so Ciampa crushed him with a running knee lift. Ciampa put Okada on the commentary desk and hit another rising knee! He threw Okada back in the ring and jawed with Callis on commentary for too long, only to walk back into a flapjack from Okada.
Okada knocked Ciampa to the mat in the corner with vicious elbows, so Ciampa tried to come back, and Okada cut that off with a neckbreaker. Okada hit a jumping elbow in the corner followed by a DDT for a two-count. Ciampa rolled to the apron, so Okada tried to bring him back in with a suplex. Ciampa broke free and broke Okada to the apron. He chopped Okada twice and grabbed him in a fireman’s carry, but Okada floated back in the ring and nailed a big boot. Okada slammed Ciampa and went to the top rope for an elbow drop. Ciampa went up to meet him, but Okada got back to the mat and dropkicked Ciampa in the back right into the ring post! Ciampa’s eye appeared to hit the post on the way down.
Okada put Ciampa on the barricade in front of his family and dropped him with a draping DDT before smiling back at Ciampa’s wife and daughter. Okada rolled Ciampa in the ring and followed after him, so Ciampa rolled back out to the floor. Okada went over to Ciampa’s daughter and offered a high-five, but he flipped her off instead! She looked at her mom, who nodded, and Ciampa’s daughter responded with a pair of middle fingers! A double-bird for her birthday! Okada backed away right into Ciampa, who threw Okada into the barricade and pounded away before backing up for a running knee! He picked up his daughter to celebrate before tossing Okada back in the ring. Okada avoided the bicycle knee, and Ciampa got away from a Rainmaker to hit a pair of German Suplexes. Okada tried to elbow out of a third, but Ciampa held on for the trifecta. Ciampa hit a Fairy Tale Ending! Okada kicked out at two!
Ciampa worked Okada into the corner with facewashes and backed up to rush at Okada, who caught Ciampa with a reverse neckbreaker! Okada slammed Ciampa and went to the top for an elbow drop that connected. Okada did the Rainmaker pose to flip off the crowd and then Ciampa, who bit Okada’s middle finger and got back up! Ciampa stomped on the finger and hit Okada with a knee before connecting with a German Suplex. Okada came right back with a shotgun dropkick to send Ciampa to the corner. Ciampa rushed out and nearly ate a Rainmaker, but countered out of it and hit Project Ciampa! 1-2-Okada kicked out in time! Callis fanned himself feverishly while the crowd roared in approval of the classic they were watching.
Ciampa got Okada on the top turnbuckle with the intent of hitting an Avalanche Psycho Driller, so Okada gouged his eyes, and Ciampa fell to the mat. Callis left the desk to distract the referee while Okada pulled a screwdriver out of the turnbuckle pad. He leaped off the rope, but Ciampa answered with a knee! Okada dropped the screwdriver! Ciampa tried another bicycle knee, which Okada caught and transitioned into a German Suplex before pulling Ciampa back into a Rainmaker attempt, which Ciampa ducked. He stopped Okada’s dropkick attempt and rolled him over into a short-range knee lift. Ciampa backed up to the corner for a bicycle kick, only for Okada to cut it off with a picture-perfect dropkick! Ciampa fell into the corner, so Okada pulled him out for a Rainmaker, which Ciampa escaped and then ducked under a dropkick attempt. Ciampa came right at Okada with a running knee and blasted him in the side of the face. 1-2-Okada kicked out! Ciampa’s family remained worried while the crowd loved everything they were seeing.
Ciampa picked Okada up for his own Rainmaker attempt, which Okada avoided, but he didn’t avoid Ciampa’s follow-up elbow strike. Yet again, Ciampa backed to the corner for a bicycle knee and again Okada avoided him with a rollup, before pulling Ciampa up into a Rainmaker! He kept wrist control and tried another Rainmaker, which Ciampa ducked only to walk right into a dropkick. Ciampa staggered but fired up and ran right into Emerald Flosion! Okada grabbed him for another Rainmaker and clobbered Ciampa to get the three-count and a successful defense! Okada made a point to taunt Ciampa’s family on his way out of the ring.
AEW Women’s World Tag Team Championship Chicago Street Fight: The Brawling Birds (Alex Windsor and Jamie Hayter) (c) def. Divine Dominion (“Megasus” Megan Bayne and “Colossal” Lena Kross)
Our third championship match of the night wasn’t expected to resemble a match at all, which was apparent when Divine Dominion attacked the Brawling Birds before they even got to the ring. Hayter and Windsor were ready for it and took Kross and Bayne down long enough to set up a table. That gave Bayne and Kross a chance to recover, and they quickly took over before bringing the match into the ring. They put Windsor and Hayter teeth-first on the seats of folding chairs, but before we could see what danger was next, the Birds reversed things and sent the challengers into the chairs. They suplexed Kross and then Bayne onto Kross with a chair!
Bayne hit Windsor with a trash can lid from the outside. Kross and Hayter battled on the apron over a table while Bayne took out Windsor by throwing a chair at her head. Kross tried to powerbomb Hayter off the apron through the table, so Hayter held onto the ropes until Bayne booted her off the apron to allow Kross to finish the devastating powerbomb through the table! They turned their attention to Windsor with Kross holding her arms over the ropes while Bayne unloaded with kendo stick shots. Bayne and Kross tried to sandwich Windsor’s head with chairs, but she moved, and they collided. Hayter was on the top rope and took both down with a crossbody! She wore out a chair on the backs of Kross and Bayne before moving to kendo stick shots, which she punctuated on Bayne with a White Russian Legsweep. She tossed the kendo stick to Windsor, who did the same to Kross with a boot-assisted White Russian Legsweep!
Bayne tried to attack with a barbed-wire-covered chair, so Hayter kicked her in the gut and DDTed Bayne on the barbed-wire chair, which also got Hayter in the process! Windsor hit Kross with a trash can and put it over her head so Hayter could come off the top with a jumping knee to Kross in the can. A bloody Windsor covered Kross, who managed to kick out. The Birds smashed Kross with chairs at the same time and tried the cover, but Bayne dove in to make the save. Bayne was pouring blood from her forehead! All four women threw wild shots at each other before collapsing to the mat.
All four women fought while sitting in chairs until they got to their feet. Kross and Bayne threw chairs at the champions and then picked them back up for swinging fireman’s carry slams on chairs! A double cover got a double kickout at two! Kross and Bayne missed a double boot in the corner when Hayter got out of the way. She dropped Bayne with a German Suplex, and Windsor came in looking for 2 Birds, 1 Stone. Bayne avoided it and chucked both Windsor and Bayne over her head with a mind-blowing double German Suplex! Bayne and Kross brought a metal barricade in the ring and set it up in the corner.
Hayter fought back and knocked Bayne out of the ring. Kross grabbed the Birds for a double suplex into the barricade, but they blocked it, and each hit Kross with a headbutt at the same time. They turned Kross around and suplexed her onto the unforgiving steel in the corner, which left Kross folded in half. They picked her up for 2 Birds, 1 Stone, but Bayne flew into the ring for a jumping clothesline on Hayter! Kross grabbed Windsor for a German Suplex, which Bayne helped with a flying boot! Windsor still kicked out in time! Divine Dominion hit Windsor with Divine Intervention onto a pair of chairs and that looked like the end. 1-2-Hayter jumped in to break it up! The Birds live on!
Bayne and Kross produced a barbed-wire board and brought it in the ring to prop up in the corner. Kross wedged a chair in the corner on the opposite side and picked up Windsor as Bayne picked up Hayter. The champions both slipped away, but Windsor wound up going head-first into the chair when Kross moved. However, on the other side, Hayter put Bayne through the barbed wire board with a Death Valley Driver! Kross went under the ring and brought in a black bag, which she poured out in the middle of the ring to reveal thumbtacks!
Kross started to pick Windsor up, so she didn’t see Hayter rush in with a chain wrapped around her arm that met Kross’ head! Windsor lifted Kross up, and Hayter hit 2 Birds, 1 Stone with the chain into the thumbtacks! Windsor covered Kross to get the pinfall victory in the bloody Chicago Street Fight!
AEW World Trios Championship Match: Swerve Strickland & The New Level (Austin Creed and Kofi) (c) def. “Hangman” Adam Page & Brodido (ROH World Champion Bandido and Brody King)
The former champions were out first for their chance to regain the belts from the team that surprisingly took them away last month at All In: London in the Trios Roulette Royale. The crowd was strongly behind New Level at the bell, with Bandido and Kofi starting things off in a great battle of generational athleticism. They exchanged high-flying offense, although it was way more of one-upping each other with no clear advantage. Creed and King tagged in, but King threw him to the mat twice. Creed went to his corner and got hyped up, but King dropped him two more times before throwing Creed to the floor. Creed came up the steps, but got booted back down by Page. King put Creed on a chair next to the barricade and squished him with a ginormous flying crossbody!
King threw Creed back in and Page tagged in, but Creed ran him into the champions’ corner, which knocked Swerve off the apron. Page dropped Creed with a fallaway slam and a big boot followed by a bodyslam. Bandido tagged in with a senton atomico to Creed, but as he started to celebrate, Swerve came flying around the corner to attack Page on the floor! He threw Page into the timekeeper’s area, but Page came right back out to trade wild shots with Swerve. The crowd grew into a frenzy, knowing the history of these two, which appeared to be set off by Page’s inadvertent shot to Swerve in the corner. With teammates trying to calm them down, Creed hit Bandido with a counter knee to the face. Swerve tagged in and stomped Bandido until Creed had to pull him away. Creed stomped away and hit Bandido with a delayed vertical suplex for a two-count.
Kofi tagged in and New Level peppered Bandido with their rebound, high-velocity double-team attacks. Swerve tagged in, and all three hit repeated attacks until Kofi and Creed held Bandido on their shoulders for Swerve, who came off the ropes with a springboard kick. Bandido kicked out, but Swerve got up and stared right at Page as he continued to punish Bandido. He dropped a diving elbow onto Bandido’s back from the second rope and taunted Page. Bandido got out of a reverse chinlock until Swerve swung him into a backbreaker. Bandido came back with a pair of defense strikes in the corner and a tornillo off the top. When he tried to make a tag, Swerve knocked King and Page off the apron, but that just angered Page, who went right after Swerve until the referee pulled him back. Swerve ran at Bandido, who managed to block Swerve by standing straight up and popping Swerve into a jaw-dropping cutter!
King and Creed tagged in, but King immediately cleared house on New Level. King dumped Kofi on the apron with a Death Valley Driver and smashed Creed in the corner with a lariat before hitting another to drop him on the mat. Kofi ran into a back body drop. King squashed Creed in the corner with a cannonball and covered, but Swerve broke it up. He went to the corner and reached for a tag while Page did the same, which brought a buzz throughout the crowd! They tagged in at the same time, and the arena exploded!
Both men met in the middle swinging wildly, but it was Page who got the advantage and quickly went to the apron for a Buckshot Lariat. Swerve saw it coming and avoided it to try for a House Call, which Page stepped away from before booting Swerve to the ropes. Page knocked Creed off the apron and ran into a boot from Swerve. Page and Swerve knocked each other to the mat and got right back up to continue the fight! The crowd only egged them on as the echoes of their last meeting in this building two years ago left haunting memories that were being unearthed in front of our eyes!
Creed pulled Page to the floor, which allowed Swerve to clobber Page with a twisting dive over the top. King came over to save Page from a triple-team. Just as quickly, King held Creed off the apron over Bandido’s knees, and Page ran down the apron with a shooting star press onto Creed, who was crushed from all angles! Swerve kicked King in the chest from the apron while Kofi double-stomped Page on the floor! Swerve nailed Page with a House Call off the apron! All six men were down all over the ringside area.
Prince Nana barked encouragement to Swerve, who lined up Page for a House Call in the ring, but he took too much time, and Page clobbered him with a clothesline. Page put Swerve on the top buckle while Bandido did the same with Kofi. First, Page brought Swerve down with a fallaway slam moonsault, and Bandido did the same to Kofi! Creed came in to make the save and save the gold!
Creed unloaded on King with chops until King took a wild swipe, which Creed avoided and came back with a pair of kicks. He dropped King with a shoulder tackle and lifted him with squats while Bandido grabbed Kofi and Swerve on his shoulders. King got down and put Creed on Swerve and Kofi. Bandido and Bandido dropped all three at the same time with a TRIPLE SAMOAN DROP! Bandido wasn’t done, as he went to the top of the ring post and came down on all three champions with a moonsault to the floor.
Back in the ring, Bandido looked for a 21 Plex on Creed, but Kofi jumped in to block Bandido with a rear waist lock. Bandido reversed it, and King grabbed Bandido, so Bandido and King worked together to bring New Level over for a double-double German Suplex! Page and Bandido launched Creed into King for a piledriver, but he held on so they could hit tandem superkicks. Page and Bandido hit stereo dives to Kofi and Swerve while King spiked Creed with a piledriver! 1-2-Creed kicked out!
King put Creed on the top buckle, but Creed managed to slip underneath as Kofi hit a rising kick on King. Creed powerbombed the stunned King out of the corner! Kofi hit King with a Super Boom Drop, and Swerve followed with a 450 Splash. All three covered King, and he still managed to kick out in time!
King got back to his knees and flipped off Swerve, who called for a House Call, only for Page to step in front of King. Swerve stopped, as the two rivals were locked onto each other once again, so Page didn’t see Kofi’s roundhouse kick! Bandido took Kofi and Swerve down with a flying crossbody, but Creed got Bandido with a kick from the apron and a springy DDT off the ropes. King immediately leveled Creed with a lariat. Swerve hit King with a House Call, but King stayed on his feet and turned Swerve inside out with a lariat! Everyone is down again!
King had Swerve on his shoulder, so Kofi floated out and pushed King into a Trouble in Paradise from Kofi that knocked him out of the ring. Bandido nailed Swerve with a kick to the gut and Page flipped over Swerve for a Buckshot Lariat on Kofi! Swerve booted Bandido and turned into a pop-up powerbomb from Page! Page went to the apron for another Buckshot, but Creed took the bullet for Swerve, who immediately nailed Page with a House Call! Bandido hit Swerve with an X-Knee! Bandido tried a 21 Plex, but Swerve landed on his feet! He pulled Bandido up and spiked him with Big Pressure to get the pinfall win and a successful defense! Swerve and The New Level remain undefeated!
Winner faces AEW Women’s World Champion Mercedes Moné at AEW WrestleDream: Artist of STARDOM Champion “The Toxic Spider” Thekla def. Willow Nightingale
A quick start saw both contenders look for big offense early, and Nightingale nearly ended it quickly with a dangerous senton splash. Thekla quickly turned it around with a pin attempt to get a near-fall, which set off a chain reaction of pin attempts until Nightingale sent Thekla to the ropes for a Pounce! She worked Thekla around the corners and hit a series of clotheslines for a two-count. Thekla missed a charge in the corner, so Willow went to the second rope, only for Thekla to knock her all the way to the floor! Thekla followed out to attack and mocked Willow to the camera before throwing her into the barricade.
Thekla brought Willow back in the ring and pulled her over the ropes with a tarantula to target her broken hand. Thekla pulled at the hand and stomped on it before hitting a running knee on the apron. Willow came back with clotheslines in the corner and went for a cover, but Thekla kicked out as Willow yelled in pain as she tried to shake the hand. Willow put Thekla in a Texas Cloverleaf before transitioning into a powerbomb! Willow went up top, so Thekla rolled to the floor. Willow went to the apron and clobbered Thekla with a cannonball. She threw Thekla back in, but Thekla hit Willow with a boot and went to the top rope. Thekla flew to the floor and nailed Thekla with a crossbody.
Willow and Thekla got into an extended chop exchange until they realized they had to beat the referee’s count and rolled back in. They resumed striking until Willow hit a Death Valley Driver for a near-fall. She put Thekla on the top turnbuckle, but Thekla knocked Willow down and stomped on her broken hand from the second rope! Thekla went into her spider walk and speared Willow! 1-2-Willow bridged up into her own spider pose! Thekla answered, and the two mirrored each other! Another exchange saw Thekla knock Willow into the ropes, only for Willow to rebound with a desperation lariat!
Julia Hart and Skye Blue arrived at ringside, and while Hart distracted the referee, Blue hit Willow from behind with her Artist of Stardom Title! The referee turned his attention to Blue, so Hart got in the ring and tried to hit Willow with her belt, but missed and hit Thekla instead! Willow threw Hart to the floor and knocked Blue off the apron before trying to cover Thekla, who kicked out at two! Willow didn’t have the grip strength to pick up Thekla for a Babe with the Powerbomb, so Thekla stomped her in the hand and then again on the back of the neck! Thekla covered and got the three-count!
Hart and Blue joined Thekla in the ring to celebrate, but they were interrupted by AEW Women’s World Champion Mercedes Moné, who will now defend against Thekla on October 17 at AEW WrestleDream!
AEW World Tag Team Championship 3-Way Ladder Match: Young Bucks (Matt Jackson and Nick Jackson) def. AEW World Tag Team Champions Christian Cage & Adam Copeland (c) and FTR (Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler)
Knowing how unlikely this match was to ever happen, the crowd chanted, “Holy shit” at the bell! All six men spilled to the floor before Cope and Cage hit a double-team reverse DDT on Matt. The champions got chairs and fired them at Harwood, but the Bucks stopped them from doing any further damage with superkicks and took them out of the ring. The Bucks alternated strikes on FTR in the corners before Cage attacked with a chair. Cage was bloodied over the eye just minutes into the match after the superkick to the chair cut him open! The Bucks fought back to kick chairs into Cage and Cope. The Bucks tried to baseball slide a ladder into FTR, but they lifted it up and smashed the Bucks over and over until Cage and Cope hit their baseball slides into the ladder and then immediately followed with crossbodies off the top!
Nick kicked Cage from the apron and stopped Cope from climbing the ladder. Cope threw Nick into the ladder and then to the apron and tried to climb again. Nick hit a springboard dropkick to knock Cope off the ladder. FTR came back in to square off with the Bucks, and Harwood was bleeding from the forehead. They fought around a ladder in the middle of the ring until the Bucks both jumped on at the same time to scamper to the top. All four men pulled each other down at every attempt until Wheeler got free, only for Matt to meet him at the top. Nick pulled Wheeler down, and Matt jumped over Harwood’s chair swing before Harwood still managed to pull him down.
Nick hit Harwood with a superkick, and the Bucks hit a double-team senton bomb on Wheeler while he hung in the ladder! The Bucks started to climb, but the champs tipped the ladder to knock them into the ropes. FTR sent the champions into the ladder and turned their attention to the Bucks. They threw Nick into a ladder propped up in the corner, so he changed direction and ran up the ropes to come down on Cope on the floor! Matt took out FTR in the ring at the same time!
Matt monkey flipped Cage onto a ladder, but Cope threw Nick onto the same ladder to stop a double-team. Cope backdropped Matt high into the air and down onto a ladder in the ropes. Cope went to the floor and retrieved a significantly bigger ladder than anything already introduced. Harwood and Cope battled on a ladder, with Harwood taking Cope over with a superplex through another ladder! Immediately after, Cage and Wheeler came off the top with splashes at the same time!
The Bucks sandwiched Wheeler in the corner with kicks and isolated him for quick strike offense that ended with a double stomp and a backstabber to Cage, who was stuck in the ladder across the ring. Wheeler and Matt both tried to attack from the apron until Nick backdropped Wheeler from the ring through a table on the floor! Nick put Harwood through a table with a 450 from the top to the floor! Cope bounced Matt’s head off a table with an Impaler DDT off the apron!
Cage pulled Nick off the top rope with a Super Killswitch onto a ladder! Cope unloaded on FTR with a chair shot as Cage climbed the ladder, but Stoke came in to hit Cope with a low blow! Cage came down the ladder, and Stokely threw powder in his eyes! Stokely climbed the big ladder, but Cope got up and pushed the ladder over, with Stokely falling from the top of the ladder through a table on the ground. He might need that wheelchair again!
FTR stopped Cope from going up the ladder and spiked him with a piledriver on the apron! The Bucks lit up FTR with superkicks and hit Harwood with a flipping piledriver from the apron to the floor! The Bucks set up Harwood on a table and Cope on another before each climbing a side of the ladder for stereo splashes to smash them through the tables! Cage stumbled to his feet under the same ladder, and Wheeler flew through the ropes to propel Cage through another table! Everyone was down amongst rubble covered in blood, bruises and grimaces.
The Bucks climbed a ladder in the ring, but were quickly stopped by the other teams and two more ladders. All six men battled on three ladders until Cage and Harwood were the last two. Cope speared Matt, and Nick knocked Cage off the ladder. FTR hit Nick with a Shatter Machine off the ladder! Cage and Cope clobbered Harwood with chairs and trapped him under the ladder with his head exposed on the steps. That left him wide open for a modified Con-Chair-To! Wheeler tried to climb up the other side, so the champs swung at him but missed. Cope fell and went awkwardly over the top rope. Cage bounced his ladder off the rope to stop Wheeler from climbing. Matt springboarded onto the ladder and dumped Wheeler off with a dangerous flip to the mat.
The Bucks met Cage on the ladders and hit him with a BTE Trigger to knock him to the mat! The Bucks grabbed the AEW World Tag Team Titles to become the first-ever four-time champions!
Wardlow’s Impending Return!
With a look at his path of destruction and dominance in AEW, we saw WARDLOW suiting up for his impending return!
AEW World Championship Match: AEW World Champion Will Ospreay (c) def. AEW Continental Champion Jon Moxley
After Moxley made his customary entrance through the crowd with the Death Riders, Ospreay’s entrance began with a violinist and a look at the history that brought us to this match. We were taken outside the arena where United Empire’s “Speedball” Mike Bailey and Francesco Akira were holding a Death Riders flag, so Ospreay could light it ablaze! They marched back towards the entrance ramp, but Ospreay paused and said, “Let’s f***ing end this!”
Perhaps because he knows Moxley so well, Ospreay actually dismissed Moxley’s typical feeling-out process at the start of the match, almost looking at the tactic like an insult. Ospreay had no problem matching Moxley on the mat and shutting down all of Moxley’s offensive attempts. Ospreay sent Mox to the floor with a flying head scissors and followed up with an impactful crossbody. He bounced Mox off the commentary desk as the Death Riders backed away while Ospreay continued to punish Moxley around the ring. They returned inside, and Ospreay tried to bring Moxley to the top rope, but Moxley fought and clawed his way free. He grabbed Ospreay in a guillotine and seemed to make a switch on the fly into a variation of a Death Rider on the top of the turnbuckle!
Ospreay was a bloody mess on the floor, so when he stumbled back to the apron, Moxley dropkicked him back to the floor. Moxley came out to attack and sent Ospreay into the steel steps before grounding Ospreay’s head into the corner of the steps. While Ospreay tried to recover on the floor, Moxley taunted the crowd by licking Ospreay’s blood off his forearm. Moxley clubbed Ospreay and dropped him with a neckbreaker for a near-fall. Moxley snapped and manipulated Ospreay’s fingers until Ospreay started to strike back. Moxley worked Ospreay back to the mat and locked in a body and arm scissor submission. Moxley pulled Ospreay up and spiked him with a piledriver. Ospreay kicked out at two.
Moxley stalked Ospreay and peppered him with shots before trying another piledriver. Ospreay got out of it and chopped Moxley until Moxley took him back down to the mat with an STF. Ospreay managed to get back to his feet and rolled over Moxley for a straitjacket of his own. He let it go to hit a spinning corkscrew kick off the ropes. Ospreay came back with a springboard forearm to get another two-count. Ospreay chopped Mox while keeping wrist control and hit a twisting moon press for another near-fall, with Moxley making a point to say that’s not enough to get the job done. Moxley kept taunting Ospreay and lured him into a strike exchange before trying to grab him in another submission. Ospreay countered into a Styles Clash position, but Moxley grabbed Ospreay’s ankle and tried to roll into his own version of Death Ground. Ospreay got back to his feet, so Moxley brought him back down with a choke. Ospreay backed Mox into the corner to break it up and followed with a thrust kick. Mox blocked an OsCutter and dumped Ospreay on his head with a cutthroat suplex! Moxley picked up Ospreay and nailed a Gotch-Style Piledriver! Ospreay kicked out to stay alive, but his neck was clearly bothering him.
Ospreay fought off a Death Rider attempt, so Moxley hauled off and dropped Ospreay into the corner with a big forearm. Ospreay tried to fight back with little effect as Moxley begged him to do more. Moxley threw a huge lariat and went to stomp Ospreay in the neck, but Ospreay blocked it by bracing himself and pushing back to a vertical base!
Moxley didn’t seem to expect that, and Ospreay started to fire up. Ospreay hauled off on Mox and hit a rolling elbow strike followed by a kneel-out powerbomb before pulling him up for a Styles Clash! Moxley kicked out at two! Ospreay hit an OsCutter! Mox kicked out again! Ospreay measured for a Hidden Blade, but Shafir grabbed his leg from the floor, and the referee admonished her. Yuta tried to get in on the other side but was pulled down by Bailey, who stood side by side with Akira to stop Garcia and Yuta.
Back in the ring, Ospreay floated out of another overhead suplex attempt and kicked Mox in the head. He ran at Moxley for a big boot, but Moxley moved, and Ospreay nailed referee Paul Turner! Turner was out on the floor, so Garcia and Yuta attacked Bailey and Akira. In the ring, Ospreay took out Moxley with a Hidden Blade! He covered, but there was no referee! Yuta came in to attack Ospreay, only to eat a cutter from Akira! Akira tried to fight off Yuta and Garcia, but they threw him to the floor. Speedball took out Garcia and Yuta and landed a springboard moonsault to the floor! Shafir went to hit Bailey, so he blocked it and pushed her down. PAC hit Bailey with a briefcase! He brought it in the ring, and it’s the same briefcase that housed the AEW World Title during Moxley’s last reign. Andrade pulled PAC out of the ring and dropped him with Dia de Los Muertos. Andrade gestured at Ospreay and flashed the United Empire sign.
Andrade threw PAC over the barricade, as Ospreay turned into a Paradigm Shift from Moxley! Ospreay bounced right back with a Hidden Blade! Ospreay fired himself up and ran at Moxley for another Hidden Blade, but Shafir laid him out with the briefcase! She threw the referee back into the ring, and Moxley covered Ospreay, but he kicked out at two! Shafir got back in the ring and nailed the referee to send him from the ring once again. AEW Women’s World Tag Team Champion and Ospreay’s wife, Alex Windsor, hit the ring and attacked Shafir! Windsor, who was still bandaged from her earlier Chicago Street Fight, grabbed Shafir and Jamie Hayter flew in to complete 2 Birds 1 Stone on Shafir! The Brawling Birds held up the United Empire sign! Wheeler Yuta tried to attack from behind, so they took him out and sent him to the floor. Hayter jumped off the top and took out Yuta and Garcia. The Brawling Birds fought Shafir up the ramp.
Ospreay went to grab the briefcase in the ring, but Mox stomped his head right into it! Moxley grabbed the briefcase and yelled at Ospreay, but he seemed conflicted before finally blasting Ospreay in the head. A new referee came out! 1-2-Ospreay kicked out! Moxley hit a Paradigm Shift! Another Paradigm Shift! A Death Rider! 1-2-OSPREAY KICKED OUT! Moxley locked in a bulldog choke, and the referee checked Ospreay’s arm, but he kept it up and bit Moxley to break out of the submission! Ospreay hit a Hidden Blade! He picked up Moxley and nailed a Storm Breaker! Moxley kicks out at two! Ospreay pulled off his elbow pad as Moxley looked around, unaware of what was about to happen to him until he laughed and accepted his fate with a willing nod from his knees. Moxley turned to face Ospreay, who was already in motion with a Hidden Blade that put Moxley down for good! Ospreay covered for the win! Ospreay retains the AEW World Title and has finally beaten Moxley! What a main event!
Ospreay began to celebrate and got on the ropes, but Moxley ripped it away from him and put it over his shoulder. They slapped hands and Moxley left the ring. Ospreay continued to celebrate as All Out came to a close!
