The South African fast-bowling all-rounder became the world No. 1 Test bowler last week after picking up a five-wicket haul in the first innings of the second Test against Australia at St George’s Park in Gqeberha.

In the ICC Test batting rankings, South Africa’s Test captain Temba Bavuma dropped two places to fourth, while Joe Root and Travis Head gained one place each to reach second and third positions, respectively.
In the second innings of the third Test at Newlands, Ryan Rickelton scored a century for the Proteas, which helped him gain 25 places and reach 23rd position in the rankings.
Meanwhile, Wiaan Mulder has moved to 17th position after jumping seven places. Like Rickelton, he also scored a century in the second innings of the third Test in Cape Town.
Pavan Rathnayake of Sri Lanka was the best batter in the ODI tri-series in Pakistan last month, and his 400-plus run tally in five matches has helped him rise 20 places to become the world No. 16 ODI batter.
