WORCESTER – Ashley Hurley has plans to return to school to earn a master’s degree in social work after winning a $1 million prize on a scratch ticket.
She chose the cash option after winning the prize in the Massachusetts State Lottery’s “Loteria” game and received a onetime payment of $650,000, before taxes.
She bought the winning ticket at the Mobil gas station, also known as the Corner Store, at 635 Chandler St. The store will receive a $10,000 bonus for the sale.
Earlier this summer, another gas station in Worcester sold a winning $1 million ticket. The winning ticket was sold by Bee Zee, located at 177 Southwest Cutoff, and was claimed by representatives of the Flying Spirit Trust II of Newton.
